This was going to be the hardest fight yet, and it was first. I got in position and Raymond started to count down. "Alright normal rules keep fighting until a knockout. 3. 2. 1. Fight!" He says. For about a minute we just circle making fake lunges to gauge each other's reflexes. He's a professional, so unless I want to stay in this position until morning waiting for him to make a move, I will have to make a move. On one of my "fake" lunges I go in aiming for the stomach. He was to fast, and he side stepped, leaving me off balanced.
"Shit" I muttered. I realised that to win I would have to just go for it, and take a lot of hits.I glanced at Adam who was now standing next to the girls, and our eyes connected, and he slightly nodded. He agreed with me he knew what I had to do. "Fuck it" I muttered as I went in again. I got him in the chin, and he got me in the nose, and stomach, but I didn't go down. I keep going for his face, and eventually connected with his temple, and he crumpled.
Raymond counted extremely slowly, but eventually got to 10, and called it. I saw the look in his eyes, and realized he wanted me to win, because he knew I was already hurting. Did I mention he was a really good gambler, and this was going to be a long night. As the fight's kept going I only had one scare. When I got hit in the eye I blacked out for a couple seconds, and I heard Raymond counting extremely fast. I managed to get up at 8, and I quickly ended the fight after that. That was the 12th guy.
The only person standing in between me and Raymond was George, and I had taught him a lot of what I knew, and my weaknesses. He was an amazing fighter, and this was not going to be easy. "You know Ian, we both know George is a great fighter, and he knows all your weaknesses, so I am going to put my offer back out there. If you give me the girls, I'll let you go free." Raymond said with a smirk, positive he had one. "Fuck you. You forgot I taught both you and George almost everything you know about fighting, and no one here or anywhere for that matter had seen me go all out in a fight. I've been waiting for the perfect moment, and I think I found it," I say stalling, struggling to catch my breath.
"Very well. Your stubbornness always was your greatest weakness. Fight" He said shouting that last part. Immediately George jumped in closing the gap in one move he went for a right arm swing at my head, but I ducked under it landing a quick punch in his abdomen. He grunted, but didn't slow, and he continued to throw punches which I dodged with ease. He did however land one punch on my throat leaving me gasping for breath for a good ten seconds. Quickly after that I landed a punch to his eye, and heard something break, probably his eye socket. He dropped to the ground holding his eye, clearly in a lot of pain.
I hated to do it, but I brought my knee up into his chin. I heard the snap of his teeth hitting together, and then he just fell back out of it. Raymond still wasn't counting, and I saw Adam go up him and grab him by the collar growling "Count you prick" One of Raymond's followers grabbed Adam, and threw him back. Raymond counted, and after that he said penalty, for Adam going up to him the way. "We all know that a penalty means a free punch on the opponent." Raymond said, as two of his guys grabbed my arms, and held me still.
Raymond walked up, putting his ring on his punching hand, This was going to hurt. He swung connecting with my jaw, and I could immediately feel blood rolling down my neck, from where his ring had connected. "Got that out of your system, you ready to fight now or what?" I managed to get out. "Yeah let's go"
Raymond and I were extremely well matched, and had the same fighting style. As soon as the fight started we both jumped in connecting punches. He then took a kick at my knee, and I went down. It was an illegal hit, but I knew that the ref wouldn't call it. I got back to my feet before Raymond could take advantage of me being on the ground. As soon as I put weight on my leg pain shot up threw my spine, and I knew my leg was now useless.
We went on for another 4 minutes, nobody getting the upperhand, until I made a last ditch effort, that if it failed when I landed on my leg, I'd be done. I jumped off my bad leg ( I had only perfected it on that leg) doing the 540 kick I had recently perfected, and I connected with his jaw. I landed on my bad leg, and I immediately collapsed in pain. I stayed there kneeling not putting any weight on my right leg, and the ref finally got to ten. I had WON!
After a few more seconds Raymond sat up, and I could already see the bruise spreading across his cheek. "You win" He said, his words dripping with venom "Go, And take your Bitches with you!" I got up quickly, and hopped over to them. "let's go" I said. "No you can't walk we need to check your leg" Heath said. "Not here, and besides I'm not walking" I said grabbing my skateboard. As I took off slowly they followed behind at a fast walk.
"Where are we going?" one of Heath's friends asked. "Somewhere Raymond can't find us, I don't trust him or his buddy's" I responded. "We could go to the hotel" Heath said. "Will your teammates be there?"I asked "Yes" "Then no, Adam and I will find a place" I said as my board hit a rock flinging me off, and I landed on my right leg. I cussed the most I had in a while after hitting that rock. "Shit are you okay" one of Heath's friends asked. "Yeah I'm great" I looked at my skateboard, and didn't see it, I realized it had rolled into the sewer. "I just can't catch a break, can I." I muttered.
"Okay why don't you just come to the hotel with us?" Heath asked. "I'm not going to put the rest of you in danger. I know Raymond, and this war has just started" "Fine we'll just force you to go there" she responded not moving. "Heath" I sighed "It's Tobin" "Fine Tobin." "You're coming, and that is that" she said walking toward the main streets for a cab. "Yes Mom" I mumbled.
