I told Kristen I was going home. I slid the piece of paper, his number, in my back pocket. I dialed a taxi again and slid inside an gave the driver directions hone. I stared out the window staring at brilliant New York.
I paid the driver and slid out from the cab and went to open the front door. Ashley yet again is watching tv. I walk towards my room and changed into my comfy sweatpants and left on the same cardigan and batman shirt. I went under the covers and closed my eyes. Tomorrow is going to be a big day.
I awoken to the sound of my sister screaming in my ear. I jerked my head up from under the covers and looked up at her.
"What do you want?" I ask.
"Whose number is this?" She said swinging the piece of paper in her hand in front of my face.
"None of your business twerp. Why were you looking in my jeans anyways?"
"Audrey's gotta boyfriend!" She teased.
I laughed and began choking on words, "No way you shit-head."
"I'm going to tell dad when he gets home next week!"
"Have fun with that." I said getting up and walking into my bathroom. A shower sounds good right about now.
I got out of the shower and got ready for my outing. I wore an oversized red sweater with a white aztec pattern, shorts, and black leggings with an old pair of dirty white vans. I then brushed my teeth and decided to let my hair down.
"Where you going?" My mom said as I passed the kitchen.
"Out. I won't be too long."
"Get me some milk?" She asked.
"Um, okay, sure, no problem." I said.
I closed the door behind me and sat down on my front porch. I got out my phone and began to call Liam. He said he'd meet me at Caribou.
In Caribou and I searched for Liam and he was at the same booth from last night. I sat across from him and we exchanged grins.
"So, hi, this is awkward." I said and we both started to laugh.
"Very."
"So, um, the reason I brought you down here is you may have heard that we're having a concert this weekend."
"Oh really?"
"Yeah, and I was hoping that you'd maybe would take my offer."
"What's your offer?"
"Would you open for us?"
"Like, sing?"
"Yeah."
I can't believe he'a going to let me sing. I'm going to sing. Oh my god I'm going to sing to like hundreds of people. . .
"I'd do it but I'd get stage fright. I mean, you have large ass fan base and plus imagine all those disappointing fan girls waiting for you guys to come on and they get, me."
"They'll live. Just please, consider it." He reached out for my hand.
What was he doing? Why is he holding my hand? This is weird. This is just, ugh. This is just really nice. I admit he's really sweet but god dammit Audrey get it together.
"I'll do it." I said with a shaky voice.
"Are you serious? That's awesome!" He said playing with my hands and gesturing for a high-five.
I giggled. God, when this is over I'm going to look like such a bitch.
The weekend came faster than usual, I was ready for that concert. Liam introduced me to the band, and I acted very awkward around them. Famous people are just very intimidating naturally I guess. It was about a few minutes before my star day view. I was literally shaking, my whole body couldn't stand still.
"Hey, you're going to be great, Audrey." Liam said.
"Thanks for the attempt but i'm still nervous and shaky as hell."
He laughed and grabbed my ahold of my both my hands and swayed them back and forth.
He looked into my eyes in a comforting way, god he's cute. Why am I going to hurt him? I can't, and what is with him touching my hands?
"You're going to be alright, I'm here." He said to me practically melting my soul.
"That's all I needed to hear, that someone out there is supporting me, Thanks Liam." I said blushing.
The rest of the band stared at the strange sight, Liam Payne holding hands with a nobody. It was finally time, people signaled me to where to jump on stage. They counted me down and I just froze.
"Go, Audrey, you can do it." Liam exclaimed.
He's words was all I need and I ran on stage with a huge crowd of hundreds staring into my soul, my very being.
I went up to the mic and it went dead quiet.
"I'm Audrey Green, I'm a performer here in New york. I was r-requested by Liam to open up for the band. Um, I hope you like my performance, I g-guess."
"This is a song I wrote, I'd like to dedicate this to all of you." There was some woo's starting to emerge in the crowd.
I opened my mouth, and the rest came out. It all came out slow, and simple. The stage was mine. Everyone seemed to enjoy me, surprisingly. I wish this moment lasted forever. I never want it to end, i'll remember this moment for the rest of my life.
My big grand opening came to end. Everyone clapped and cheered, chanted my name. It was just, amazing. I can't believe this is happening to me.
The boys came out and bowed down to me and the crowd began to laugh, cry, and scream. This is just perfect. I ran towards Liam and gave him a big hug on stage. The hug was tight but comforting. It was nice, he was nice. How could I ever repay him?
"Thank you so much, Liam." I whispered in his ear. I broke off the hug.
I raise the mic towards my mouth, "Take it away, boys." I walked backstage and began texting Kristen frantically. This is the best night ever. This is the best thing that ever happened to me.
