Chapter 1

The furthest I could recall was a sharp pain inflected by something and someone, hard and unmerciful. The blow took the air out of me from surprise. I can remember hearing when the object had first brutally contacted my unsuspecting skull, a crack, that shouldn't have resembled too much of crushing a shell for having anything to do with the body. I can remember the split second thought of why would they do this, and then the world become a blur, colors meshing with other colors, and objects blurring together. My knees went weak... I was falling, falling and I couldn't stop. I hit something hard, but couldn't feel it, I only heard the sound of my body meeting the ground. My eyelids went heavy, and then, there was nothing. And then there was darkness and nothingness. Silent darkness without thought or imagining, it was as if the world no longer existed.

All of a sudden color was coming into focus again, I thought I would be waking up but I was wrong; it was a rush of images. They were memories, they went as far back as a year ago; they were from when I first moved to Japan, when I had made my friends, everything.

I was fifteen then, I was alone and I didn't have anyone to help me for the first time in my life. But I had been excited when I came to Japan, I had been independent for the first time, I even had my own apartment. I had gotten accepted into an elite high class school, one I couldn't afford to get into, but I had gotten a scholarship that covered everything. Of course I couldn't afford the uniform though, and to make it worse, I had to cut my long wavy auburn hair to a short pixie cut that made me like a boy even more.

I had gotten up an hour earlier then what I normally did, for my first day of school I had gotten together an outfit that resembled the school uniform. The closest thing I had to it was a baby blue sweater to represent their blue blazer, and a white button up with a black tie and some nice black dress pants that matched theirs almost exactly.

I left my apartment an hour later at six thirty so I had time to walk to school, which started at seven twenty. I had successfully made it to my class after I had gotten my schedule from the secretary in the front office. I was supposed to be in the first years, but I was too advance so I was put into the second years' class. My class, 2-A, was completely empty, so I did the most reasonable thing to do in my case, sit it the very far back dark corner of the classroom and act like I wasn't there. After about five minutes of sitting there doing nothing, I heard a commotion in the hall. Sounding strangely like female yelling, but I couldn't quite hear it for it was some ways from the classroom I was in. But as time went on it was coming closer toward where I was, but it no longer sounded like yelling, it sounded like squealing, fan girl squealing. Hopefully they won't be in my class. Out of nowhere the classroom door slammed open, pushed two bodies in, then slammed shut again. Damn, I just freakin jinxed it!
