From light to darkness and darkness to light
A little girl fled with fright
The shadows are chasing her, carrying hammers
Oh how heart in her chest hammers
Her Sisters in their hometowns, too, flee in fright
Into the darkness and into the light
They hide in boxes, under stairs, on rooftops
Easy, too easy; the shadows make many flops
The Sisters call for help in fright
In the darkness and in the light
The shadows follow their cries
But no one else hears them cry
One Sister fell in the forest, she never saw it coming
The others scattered when they knew it was coming
The Sisters call for help, hide, they're coming
But nobody hears, nobody comes, they're coming
Faster, faster, faster, running, climbing, hiding
It's harder to hide, they're learning, they're coming
No one here, no one there, just the shadows
Faster, faster, hiding, climbing, running
One Sister falls, then two, then three
Only one left, there's more shadows there
She's hiding behind corners, under stairs, in boxes, on rooftops
Hiding, running, climbing, faster, fas- SHADOW!
Back down, back down, shadows on the ground, on rooftops
From ledge to ledge, window to window, there's nowhere to hide
Shadows above, below, around, have to move faster, faster, fas- no!
Barely caught the ledge in time, the ground is so far, so far
The ledge below, legs touch a solid surface, she's crying with relief
But there's no time, there's no time, have to run, have to hide
Faster, faster, faster, f- oh! Almost tripped, almost fell,
into the shadows waiting below, no time, no time
Faster, faster, keep balance, they're gaining ground
Faster, faster, she stumbles, they pounce, she leaps
The next ledge is too far, too far, she cries, she screams
Barely above the ground level, now, her hands hurt, her arms hurt, her legs hurt, she clings on to her saviour, she can't stay, off the ladder, resume running
They're so close, too close, she can't keep going for much longer
Tired, exhausted, no time to pause, no time to breathe
Faster, faster, faster, they're almost on her, no room for mistakes
Faster, faster, fas- "Nooo!" She screams as she falls into the shadows below and then-
She wakes up.
