As I played double agent, steve and I trained every morning while in the afternoons, out of sight from the others, I trained with Nicks men. I got good pretty fast and poor Steve thought it was because of him.
"Are you practicing by yourself?" He chuckled as he blocked a punch to his face. "You are getting better."
"Maybe a little," I laughed as I leaped back to avoid a kick. "Or maybe you are just that good!"
He suddenly swing a quick fist that clipped my ribs and I fell backwards before spinning around and hooking my feet behind his ankle. He fell onto his butt and I laughed.
"That's a Black Widow move," he groaned as he stood up.
"Actually that's a Tori Stark move!" I bragged. "Totally original. A conservation of tangential velocity."
He nodded with a smirk. "I'll have to take your word for it."
I put up my fists. "Okay so show me one of your moves. We can trade."
"All my moves involve my shield," he said, grinning.
"Oh then never mind. I probably won't ever get to use that."
"Agent Stark," a woman said, poking her head in to the training room. She blushed at Steves shirtlessness. "Captain." He gave her a small nod and she looked back at me. "Director Fury wants to see you."
I perked up with excitement. This was my first mission. It had to be. "Okay." I looked back at Steve. "I'll catch you later Cap!" Then I trotted off.
Fury was waiting for me. "Ready for your first mission? I know I only gave three days to prepare, but this shouldn't be hard." I nodded. "Actually this one is downtown DC. Another rebel uprising. They broke into the archives."
"Looking for what?" I asked.
"That's not important. What's important is not letting them get away this time." He gave me a firm look. "Go with Agent Fowler and get suited up. You are going to follow the van taking them out."
I followed an agent out of his office and into another room. The door was locked and I looked ahead in awe to see a sleek steel suit that was crimson red and black. The helmet wasn't bulky like the captains and it covered my entire face. It was beautiful. I took the suit off the display and slipped into the armor. Then Agent Fowler put the helmet on my head.
"Your SOS database was transferred into the head gear," Agent Fowler explained.
"JARVIS, you there?" I asked, my voice muffled against the helmet.
"Present and accounted for."
"Great." I hit the side of my helmet. "Let's go."
"Quick updates about your suit," Agent Fowler continued as he scanned my helmet. "It's extremely flexible despite how tough the material is. Also, it's not fire proof so don't go jumping through explosions. The same thing with anything cold. If you get shot, the average bullet will be stopped by your suit, but you'll still get bruised. A new and improved bullet will go through the material. Got it?"
"Got it: don't get shot," I repeated.
Fury came in. "I already sent them off. This shouldn't be a hard mission. More like a test run."
I nodded. "I'll be one with the shadows."
He nodded and Agent Fowler led me to a car. We climbed in and the car took off towards downtown DC.
"Don't do anything stupid, Stark," Agent Fowler told me. He was a short and angry looking man who thought he was in charge of me. Wow, that was a mistake.
"Making no promises," I said.
He looked like he wanted to say something else, but I put on my helmet.
"JARVIS, track Mr. Rogers please," I said.
"He is currently seven miles ahead with Agent Romanoff, Mr. Stark and... Clint."
"Heheh Clint," I laughed to myself. "From now on let's refer to him as Clint."
"That's not very professional," Agent Fowler said with a disapproving look.
"Pipe down Johnny B. Goode. Your pessimism is hurting my brain."
Finally the van stopped and i saluted my assistants, "wish me luck." Then I hoped out of the van and sprinted into an alley way where I could remain undetected.
"You're up JARVIS," I said quietly. "Give me their location."
"Two blocks to the east inside the national archives building."
I slipped out of the alley and walked into a crowd. I must have looked like a biker to them with my one piece suit and helmet action.
Then I saw the archives building with smoke pouring out of the top. People were running around shouting horrific claims and police were pushing people away from the scene. I saw Steve ahead, picking him out among Clint and Nat. Tony wasn't around.
"JARVIS, where's Stark?"
"He's already inside the building ma'am."
"Okay." I paused to think. "Hack into their com unit so I can listen in."
He did as I ordered.
"Looks like they're hiding in the back west corner of the building. They have no where to run." Tony sounded scared. "But there are traps everywhere. They knew we were coming."
My eyes widened. Traps? I would have to go figure out them all before they went inside. But how would I get inside?
"We're going in," Steve replied.
No no no. I had to get in there. But with the place surrounded there was no way I could enter the building from the outside.
Suddenly as I thought this, the idea hit me.
