Skylor stepped out of the Berg. It's light glowed from inside and seeped into the dark night of Denver. Cackles filled with insanity rang through the streets.

The sounds of pure madness made her shiver, Who could create such a disease?

Skylor and three armed escorts carried gun, but not just any guns. They carried darts with the cure. After years of studying the virus, the cure had finally been developed.

Once GHEC's intelligence heard that a highly contagious virus had been made, Skylor's parents spent all of their time and energy on finding a cure. They had spent so much time on researching for the cure that Skylor was forgotten.

Skylor and the guards wore face masks, protecting them from the disease. They trudged down the streets, looking for any victims of the Flare. The streets were strangely empty, however, Skylor could make out the hunched over silhouettes of Cranks through the dirt covered windows.

A guard let out a groan of pain, and Skylor whipped around while setting her gun to fire bullets. A dirt covered figure laid on the ground; he appeared to be asleep. The guard had apparently tripped over the teenage boy.

The teenager had sandy blond hair that ran down almost to his shoulders. His clothes were dirt-stained, as well as the rest of his body. One of the guards scanned the boy with his gun.

"Is he infected?"Skylor asked.

"Affirmative,"the guard who had tripped said, standing up."His brain is almost Gone."

Skylor replied,"Should we try to cure him?"

"Its worth a try,"the guard to Skylor's left sighed."I don't see how it could hurt."

Skylor nodded while setting her gun back to fire the cure. She aimed and shot the boy in the arm. He twitched as the needle pricked his flesh. Skylor bent down to remove the needle. She looked at his peacefully face and realized that he was wanted by WICKED.

A drop of bright red slowly trickled out the teenager's arm as Skylor removed the dart,"We need to take him to the Berg. He could be useful."

The three guard and Skylor hauled the boy towards their Berg. Sweat dripped down Skylor's face as they gruelingly walked down the streets. She gazed downwards to look at his face.

He's kind of attractive... No, shut up! He worked for WICKED, he can't be trusted. No one from WICKED can, not after what they did to my parents.

Tears rolled down Skylor's cheeks as she remembered the night that WICKED committed the most unforgivable crime ever; WICKED assassinated her parents. Every time she had that memory, she would try to block it with the strong emotional wall she built ages ago. Now, Skylor's wall finally began to crack under pressure. The pressure for her to succeed, the pressure that she faced everyday when she went to help distribute the cure. The stress built up until it finally broke her wall. She started to cry.

By the time Skylor and the guards reached the Berg, Skylor was sobbing. Her closest friend, Roland, dashed out of the Berg and embraced her tightly. His strongly steady heart beat calmed her a little; it was so familiar and comforting.

"Wh-what happened back there?!"Roland shrieked.

"Nothing,"replied a guard as he and his companions hauled the unconscious boy into the Berg.

"Whatever,"Roland sighed. Turning his attention back to Skylor, he said,"It will be okay. Everything is fine now."

Skylor took a shuddering breath as she and Roland entered the Berg.
