Years have passed since what happened during the Christmas Eve crisis. A man named Quincy Sharp reopened Arkham Asylum and became its warden. Doctor Harleen Quinzel kept having sessions with the Joker until she fell in love with him and became his hench girl Harley Quinn. Joker shot Barbara Gordon through her spine and she forever bound to a wheelchair. Batman now is considered a hero and beloved by most in Gotham. As for Alice Liddell, she still lives with James Gordon who is now commissioner and works at the asylum as the cleaning lady. The asylum's motto was "You don't have to be crazy to work here-but it helps!" The motto was a few of the only reasons that Alice decided to work at the asylum. She wasn't afraid of any of the inmates, much to the guards' envy. Alice was friends with one of the guards. His name was Officer Aaron Cash. He never understood why a sweet girl like Alice would ever work in a place as crazy as this. She often enjoyed Cash's company. He often reminded Alice of her father. Years have gone by, and Alice missed her family. One time, Cash was nice enough to invite Alice to his home with his family. Cash's wife Maria and Alice became friends because of their love for cooking. Cash and Maria's son Thomas enjoyed Alice's stories of her adventures in Wonderland. When she left, Cash assured Alice that she is welcomed anytime. Cash had one fear though, and he has been trying to overcome it. His fear of one inmate named Waylon Jones aka Killer Croc. During a prison riot, Killer Croc bit off Cash's left hand and ate it. Now to this day, Cash now wears a hook. The last time Alice met Killer Croc, he was 8 ft high and 485 pounds, and that was during the Christmas Eve crisis. Now Killer Croc is 9.3 ft high and 580 pounds. Over the years Killer Croc has grown more taller, heavier, and more reptilian. That didn't scare Alice a bit and Cash envied that. "What?" asked Alice. "He kind of looks like the Jabberwock except with no wings and non mechanical." Cash shook his head. "Whatever floats your boat, Alice." Alice giggles, but stops when she sees Professor Hugo Strange pass by. "Speaking of the Jabberwock," muttered Alice. Cash nodded, "I don't exactly approve his methods, especially when you were still recovering after...that tragic night." Alice sighed, "I lost my family that night and all he gave me was more grief. I still remember when I kept screaming for my rabbit." Cash grumbled, "I remember that, too, and I'm still surprised that Strange didn't get fired for doing that." Alice muttered, "Look at him now. Playing a part of reopening Arkham Asylum." She crossed her arms at the thought of Strange. Cash asked her, "You heard about Warden Sharp's mayoral campaign?" Alice nodded. "You considering voting for him?" asked Cash. Alice shrugged her shoulders. "I am grateful that he got me a job, but I can't imagine Warden Sharp as mayor of Gotham City." Cash nodded, "Maybe he'll be a great candidate for mayor." She turned to Cash and asked, "And what of the asylum? Who would take charge?" Cash replied, "Don't know." Then another guard named William North arrived. He said, "Cash, Batman's on his way to bring in Joker." Cash nodded and turned to Alice. "Stay with Dr. Gretchen Whistler, all right?" says Cash. Alice nodded and headed her way to Dr. Whistler. Dr. Whistler is a German woman and one of Arkham's top psychologists. She was often a motherly figure to Alice and she cared a great deal for her. Like Alice, she was not afraid of any of the inmates, especially Killer Croc. If Killer Croc, Joker, and Harley Quinn weren't dangerous enough, there were more of Gotham's most dangerous criminals residing here in the asylum. There was Pamela Isley aka Poison Ivy, a dangerous eco terrorist with plant powers, Victor Zsasz, an unhinged serial killer, and Scarecrow aka Dr. Jonathan Crane, an expert in fear with a sadistic pleasure of giving his victims heart attacks. There were several escape attempts but luckily Batman and the asylum's security staff halted their advances. There were often times when either Joker or Harley Quinn tried to persuade Alice into becoming a super villain like them. "Think about it," said Joker one time. "You had it rough since you were a kid, losing your parents. People giving you nothing but grief and torturing you until you snap. After all, there was a little bit of me when you shot Bumby, and I know it's still there." True Alice had it rough, but she's managed to go without killing for the next few years. Her friends and partial family were always there for her when she needed them. So far, Wonderland is safe and no there were threats coming. Alice smiled as she finally met up with Dr. Whistler. "Hello Alice," greeted the German woman. "Are you doing vell?" Alice replied, "Very much so. Although I would be relieved if that repulsive clown Joker would be moved to his cell." Dr. Whistler agreed, "I very much would like it, too." Alice sighed, "Well, at least I'll return home home hopefully without any asylum breakout attempts." Dr. Whistler smiled, "Take care now, and rest easy." Alice smiled as she packed her things while humming a joyful tune. Meanwhile, a sleek designed automobile sped past a sign that said, "Arkham Asylum. Warning: Hitchhikers may be escaping patients." A man with a bat like mask drove as a pale skinned man with green hair laughed maniacally, "Stand back fool! I've got a bomb. Oh, right."
