"Doon sa Department Store muna tayo pupunta para bumili ng bagong sapatos mo bago tayo magharap sa kotse." mother grumbled to me coldly.
I didn't say anything. Why? Perhaps you ask...
The reason is that everytime I tried to talk, two things would happen.
First is that she will just ignore me even you try to get her attention. Second is that she will be the 'majestic' pessimist, she always thinks negative on my every thoughts.
(30 minutes later)
"Kuya, ano po ba ang magandang sapatos para sa batang ito!?" my mom asked the salesman.
"Ano po ba ang kailangan niyo para sa kanya?Anong klase ng sapatos?" he replied.
He stared at me afterwards. "May bunganga ang sapatos ng buwiset na bata na ito.."
Oh boy...
I know what will happen and I was right. All the other salespeople went toward us. The whole crowd turned their attention toward us, literally.
Deep in myself, "Why are you here staring at me?"
At that time, I felt I want to be crazy and cry, disgusted and humiliated that my mom has brought upon me.
After a while, my dad came. My mom called him whilw we were going to the department store. He's the Great Punisher afterall. I remembered the time he got mad at me, just for asking where we are going. After that, we spent hours. Hours full of broken glass and plates. That's the story how I've got my marks in my back.
"Ano nalaman ang ginawa nitong batang ito?" he grunted. I tried not to look at the people who are still staring at me. I even heard someone saying,"Poor parents, why do they have to suffer like this?".
Involuntarily,I stand up. I want to run and hide from these...Harrassing people.
"Now what? Are you gonna give us again a headache? Sit down!" my mom screamed. She is just ignoring them while she have done that shriek.
That's it! I run...away from them...I went to the parking lot...
I just want to get away from them...away from their humiliations against me...
I don't care on what I'm doing by that time, but I know one thing: I'm crying...
