Steve, year one

Chapter 8

"You're going to build a house." She said for just about the thousandth time after we had got back from our walk.

"I'm going to build a house." I said back. Again.

"But, why? I mean, how? Like, your just going to, build another house? But-"

"Look, I don't know why you find this so difficult to believe, I did build this one," I said pointing at my current residence, "I think I did a pretty good job at it for my first house too." I said smiling.

"Yaaaa." She rolled hr eyes

I collected enough wood to make the floor frame and then the wall and ceiling frame. Serena helped me with some of the ceiling stuff. The house was 20x20 wooden planks so far. And I was thinking of adding another floor onto it later. Doing the frame all in all took me a little over a day. It was really difficult to be honest.

Once I was done the frame it was almost midnight and creepers and those things that threw the arrows at me that one night. I rushed Serena inside so she didn't have to experience that pain that I will forever fear and abhorrence for. That night I made sure the front door and each of our bedroom doors were boarded up just in case the monsters knew where we were and tried to break in. Ya I might over protect myself and others but, better safe than dead I guess.

Finally, it was morning. Serena tended her farm and made more bread and pumpkin pie while I constructed the rest of my new house. I was exhausted that night. This house was taking forever to build. I couldn't believe how long it was taking. At the moment the house was just a big empty and dark room. But, it was a good start. Although that morning it still needed a lot of work.

I decided to take Serena dmining a little after we had breakfast. I only had about 32 torches left so we went in search for some coal. And that we achieved. It was the most coal I had ever got in just one trip. Wanna guess? Nope, we found 384 pieces of coal! So ya, I had enough torches to light up the new house.
