Revenge

Over the next few days, I was irritable. I snapped at everyone. Sometimes, I would just wander around the castle sulking. Usually I was just pissed off. Unless I thought of her. I didn’t talk to anybody. I avoided all people. I didn’t need Ahriman making fun of me for failing. The first time in the history of ever that I had failed and it was because I had let my emotions get in the way. I still kept tabs on her. There was still a chance to get her back. I wanted her. I actually missed the way my heart fluttered whenever I thought of her. Or the butterflies I got whenever she looked at me with her big, innocent eyes.

I was pacing around my bedroom, mulling this all over. I realized I sounded like a lovesick school girl.

“Fuck,” I mumbled, falling face first onto my bed. I buried my face in my pillows and let out a groan. I was bored. Now that Kelsie was back with Sariel, I had nothing to do anymore. I hadn’t realized how much of my time she had taken up.

I heard my door open and slam against the wall. “Abbadon!” I heard a whiny voice yell.

I peeked at my door to see Ahriman standing in my open doorway, arms wide.

“What do you want?” I groaned.

“We’re going out tonight,” he told me.

I buried my face back in my pillow. “Have fun.”

I felt him grab my wrist and literally start pulling me out of my bed. “No, I said we’re going out tonight. Plural. As in the both of us.”

“Why the fuck would I want to go out?” I grumbled, resisting.

“To get you out of this funk you’ve been in,” he answered, finally getting me to stand up. “You’ve been a stick in the ass ever since…” he trailed off seeing my expression. “Well, you know.”

“Fine,” I sighed. “I’ll go, but  I don’t guarantee that it’ll do any good.”

“Yes!” he jumped up and down and pumped his fists like an excited teenage girl.

“I’m regretting it already,” I grumbled as I followed him out of the room.

I leaned against the counter of the bar, sipping a beer. I had already gone through ten, but I didn’t feel any kind of buzz. Alcohol didn’t affect angels that way. The barkeep was eyeing me as I downed more and more of the dizzying substance. Ahriman was off on the dance floor, ‘dancing’ with some mortal girl. I wouldn’t quite call what they were doing dancing, they were rubbing up against each other in something Ahriman called ‘grinding’. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a girl lean on the counter next to me. I didn’t realize who it was until they spoke.

“Enjoying your pity party?”

I turned my head. Luna was looking at me, eyebrows raised, smirk decorating her face.

“What do you want?” I grumbled, taking another sip of my beer.

“I want to help,” Luna’s smirk grew larger. “You want the girl, I want to take Sariel down. I might have an idea that could help both of us. Win-win situation.”

“Alright, shoot,” I didn’t show her how much I was really interested in her supposed idea.

“Alright, it starts with you trying to get Sariel’s girl back any way you can,” Luna started. “She’s bound to have been turned by now; I think the best way would be to threaten war. In said war, you kidnap his girl. Then, I kill Sariel. Boom, problem solved.”

“Hmmm,” I mused. “That might work. But how do you propose I kidnap her. It won’t be easy while in the middle of battle.”

“I don’t care, figure something out,” Luna waved her hand in the air. “Although, you might not want to keep her if you knew…no, I probably shouldn’t tell you.”
