Hi Cx this is a Fannie headcannon. Thanks for reading!

It was finally the morning Annie had been patiently awaiting; the day Finnick would come home and love her endlessly. She stood in her sea green dress that went a tad past her knees, and fiddled with the small flower in her hair, that complimented her eyes perfectly. Suddenly, her head snapped up as the train pulled in, people exploding in applause, as they watched the soldiers depart, filing out of the train. 'But where was Finnick?' Annie thought to herself, as she pressed her lips together, and walked forward, gently touching Katniss's shoulder. Katniss jumped at the gesture, turning around to face the hopeful girl. "Katniss, where's Finny?" Annie asked, expecting him to show up any minute. Katniss's face fell, and the corner of her lips turned downward into a frown. "Annie..." She started, but as Annie caught on, her face paled when she realized the news she'd be getting. "H-he's not coming home.....is he?" She asked in a whisper, as Katniss took her hands, "No-.." She sighed. "He's not. I'm so sorry, Annie." The world seemed to crumble around Annie, as she was pulled into an awkward hug from Katniss, her hands soothingly rubbing her back. Annie's lip trembled, and she nodded, pulling away with a wipe of her eyes. "Annie...come with me.." Katniss insisted, wrapping a protective arm around her shoulders, and leading her away from the crowd, into a large building with dull grey and white walls. "W-where are we going?" Annie swallowed back her emotions, deciding to ask after minutes of walking down empty hallways. "To um...see Finnick." Katniss replied, and Annies brow furrowed. "But-.." She was cut off by Katniss opening a large door. "I'll leave you alone." Katniss said without another word. Annie took a timid step inside the room, peering over her shoulder to watch Katniss leave. "Finn?" She called out, a small flame of hope still inside her. The heavy door closed with a thud, and thats when Annie saw it. A large casket, with district four's logo on it. The breath escaped her in a gasp. "Oh Finnick..." She whispered, approaching the coffin. Annie let out a choked sob, and fell to her knees, her folded arms and head leaning against the top of the closed box. "No!" She screeched, her whole body shaking with disbelief. "No! Finnick O'dair you said you'd never leave me alone! You promised!" Annie sobbed, her dainty makeup smeared down her face. When she had calmed, she sat up slightly, laying on the top of the coffin, curled up. The room was so silent, and so quiet, all Annie could hear was her heartbeat. "Finnick, please..." She whimpered, as if it'd change something, anything. "Im sorry, Im so so sorry, and I love you.." Her hands moved to slide the wedding ring off her finger, clutching it in her palms. Annie's eyelids drifted closed, and she slept, dreaming about her late husband, her king of the sea, Finnick O'dair.
