Chapter 1: The Decision

It was now or never if Rozalyn got on this boat she would then be in the new world. A place full of new beginnings. Rozalyn has relatives there, they write to her and tell her of how it welcomes all. They describe the land of having jungles to the southwest and gigantic mountains to the north. They talk of all the different people, the dwarves, the elves, and they even have orcish people there. They even say they believe that one of their workers is a mage. If she stayed she would have wasted this boat ticket and would be homeless. If it wasn't for her father Sassul Stark, Imperial Enchanter of Varona. The land of the humans. She would be sitting in her family's summer home having a servant help her choose what to wear.

Last night Sassul disowned Rozalyn and she was stripped of all claims and titles. Rozalyn had made love with a commoner and her father had believed she had become corrupt. Sassul slaughtered her lover and his family for corrupting his daughter.

Rozalyn had little time before the ship left for Ovreen, the land of the free. Which was just discovered and founded by the Zenathari, an organization of battlemages, scholars, Warriors, and lead by a man named Frenzik Grothstaad. An Alchemist exiled from Varona.

She was on the port seeing all the other people saying good bye to loved ones. Realizing she had little family left that actually accepted her. She held the tears in, realizing she was truly alone until she got to Ovreen. She thought of her older brother, the oldest of her siblings, Alaek. He was blond like their parents. Pale skin like their mother. Being first born he would be the strongest mage of the Stark children. With mages their first born child would be the one with the strongest magical ability. The other children might be born with magical abilities but it doesn't always happen. Rozalyn herself never showed any magical ability but she has never really been taught like Alaek has either.

She then thought of her twin sister Madison. She showed extreme amounts of magical ability from a young age. Though not stronger than Alaek she always put up a good fight when Alaek picked on them or their younger siblings. Alaek was 21, Madison and Rozalyn were 18, and their younger brother Mikael was 15. Mikael was interested in other things rather than magic his other siblings. Mikael loved alchemy. He always spent all his time in the manor's laboratory, creating alchemic formulae.

Rozalyn never really looked similar to her siblings. She didn't have their blond hair. She had scarlet hair. Like her grandmother. She had pale skin like her mother, but had green eyes. When the Stark family is known for blue eyes. No one in the entire Stark bloodline had ever had green eyes. No matter her differences she loved her siblings and would miss them dearly.

Rozalyn came to her decision. She thought long and hard about her future. If she stayed in Varona she would be a homeless outcast and if she left she could live with her aunt and uncle and begin her new life. She came to her decision. It was time leave.
