Sunpelt raced through the forest, his siblings, Lightheart and Briarspots beside him. "Wait 'till Ruby and her rogues meet us!" chuckled Briarspots. "She's here." the yellow tom growled. "Where?" "Here!" The white torbie laughed, her eyes glimmering devilishly. "You three are going to die!" Two shadowy shapes knocked down Briarspots and Lightspots. "Let me-us- up," growled Lightheart. "Or I will not hesitate to kill you!" Ruby shook her head. "Flick, Twitch," the two toms nodded. "You can watch them kill your sisters. Now you'll know how it was for me!" Ruby snarled. "Kill them." Twitch, a calico tom with one broken paw, shoved his scarred muzzle into Lightheart's neck. His sister spasmed then lie still. Flick gave a death blow to Lightspots and Sunpelt winced as blood gushed onto his sisters' pale cream coat. He jumped as Flick pinned him down. The yellow tom gasped for breath, eyes bulging. Twitch laughed, slowly attacking Sunpelt. The last thing Sunpelt saw before blacking out were some of his Clanmates. He saw Gorsestrike, Heatherpaw, Woollyfoot, and Dawnrunner.
"Hello, Sunpelt." A voice whispered. The flame tom leapt up. "Where am I?" he demanded. "StarClan.""Why?""You died, y'know- even if your Clan could've saved you they wouldn't have." Sunpelt snarled, "Why?""Because." "Stop, why?"
Dewsplash bowed her head. "Mumblekit, Flamekit," she sighed. Two flame toms looked up. "Come see." The sons bounced out until they saw Sunpelt. Jaykit loomed over, tail dragging depressingly. "Sunpelt..." Mumblekit mumbled. "Dad," he snarled. "When I find who did this, they'll be sorry they did."
