After several minutes, the gloves and umbrella finally arrived. Marceline put on the gloves and opened the umbrella, hurrying to get out of that palace. She had seen the princess naked! Well, not naked, but close enough.
Shaking her head with embarrassment, she stood and walked over to the window before hearing a soft tapping on her door, and turned to see Princess Bubblegum standing- fully clothed, thankfully- in a flowing pink dress with sleeves that fell off of her shoulders, and she was still flushed slightly.
"Marceline, I wanted to apologize for my appearance earlier-"
"No," I cut her off. "I shouldn't have even been here. You didn't know.." They stayed silent, for a moment before Marceline spoke again.
"I should.. go." Bubblegum nodded.
"You should." Marceline pursed her thin, pale lips before speaking again.
"Thanks again." She turned to leave, when Bubblegum spoke up.
"Marceline, would you like to stay for breakfast?" Looking back at her, she slightly bared her fangs show them off before responding.
"I don't think I eat the same thing as you." Bubblegum flushed; she had forgotten.
"I forgot. I apologize.. If you won't mind me asking, what do you eat?"
Marceline paused and stared at Bonnie's pink skin.
Well, I could drink the red from your pretty pink face.
But she wouldn't say that.
"The color red," she said after a moment of silence, finally meeting Bonnie's eyes. Bonnibel looked taken aback.
"The color.. red?"
"Yes." More silence.
"Do you think you could show me? It sounds kind of odd." Marceline thought longer about this than any of the conversation. Show her? What did she even mean?
Marceline envisioned herself stooping down and biting Bonnie's neck, and drinking the color from her face.
"No," she said after a while, shaking the thought from her head. Bonnie only nodded.
"Okay, well.. you can leave, now. That's all I wanted to know." Marceline put her lips in a thin line.
"Okay," she agreed, turning to leave. "Bye."
"Goodbye, Marceline." And Marceline left.
