Andie

I was walking through the hallway on my way to Biology texting Perrie, my girlfriend. We are supposed to have a study date tonight, and I wanted to make sure it was still on. And yes, we will be studying.

Just as I sent the text someone shoves me to the side and I turn around. When I turn I see a brunette with big black glasses a Mickey mouse sweater with black leggings and blue Chuck Taylor's. She stands clutching a big book like her life depends on it.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to bump into you. Next time I need to look where I go." She says quickly running away.

When she turns the corner something small and shiny falls on the ground. The bell rings and everyone walks to class not wanting a detention. I slowly walk to the object that fell on the floor.

When I kneel down and pick it up it was a golden ring. Not actual gold but it shined like actual gold. Not wanting to lose it I place it in my pocket and hurry to class. But the assistant principal had other plans.

He walked through the hallway yelling at kids and giving them detentions. I don't need another detention or I'm kicked off the soccer team. And he already took the quickest way to class. I sprinted down the other way of the hallway and turned racing through the corridor. Right when I reached my class I forgot that I left everything in my locker.

Ugh.

I quickly look at the clock hanging up in the hallways. 9:58, I have 2 minutes to get my books and come back before I'm late. But it takes me 3 minutes to just run down to my locker. I sprint down the hallway running past Perrie. She gives a confuse glance, raising an eyebrow. "Gonna be late!" I yell to her. She slowly nods and turns back to her friends. When I reach my locker I quickly fumble with the lock. After 10 tries I get it open. I toss my books in my bag and run back to class. The late bell rings and I leap through the door.

Mr. Boa looked down at me and crossed his arms. "You're late." He smiles and I groan, getting back up on my feet. "But I leaped just in time." I whine. He shakes his head. "Detention now." He grumbles. Soon his fake plastered smile turns into a stone cold scowl. I let out an unattractive groan and stomp my way to the detention room. This isn't my first encounter with the detention room. All this year I have been in detention for being late or arguing with teachers. This many detentions really puts a black mark on your freshman year and I'll most likely pay for it later in high school.

When I get into the detention room I am given a slip to fill out. The questions mostly consist of 'Why are you in detention?' and 'What triggered you to do so?' But I didn't bother to do it. Just sat down and pouted.

A few minutes into detention, the girl that I bumped into earlier walked in. Standing there, clutching her Harry Potter book. "Wrong room." Said the Ms. O' Hare. "No I'm here for detention." She says walking to a desk in the back. The teacher just had a surprised facial expression, handing her a slip like mine.

She sits down and ruffles her brown hair, letting out and exaggerated sigh. When she finishes the slip, she pulls out her Harry Potter book and starts reading. "You didn't put your name on it." Ms. O' Hare said holding out the paper. The girl walks over pulling her sweater down, more than it needs to be. She signs her name and jogs back to her seat. Probably wanting to finish her book.

I decide to work on my slip because I have nothing else to do. When I walk to go put my slip in the pile, I sneak a look at the girls name. Dan Logan. Isn't that like a boy name. A small smile appears on my lips.

When I go to sit back down I catch Dan staring at me. She quickly looks away fumbling with her necklace which is made up of the color gold and circles with an hour glass. She has a lot of jewelry, let's just hope doesn't lose it. For the next 45 minutes I just sit and groan. Creating a headache for myself.
