I finished my breakfast and smoothed my hair back, nervously before looking both of them in the eye. "Thank you." I said.
"No need, Miss Sorenson."
"No problem, Pookie."
They spoke at the same time and it relieved my nerves and made me laugh. I got up and slid my feet into shoes before reaching out and caressing Sean's cheek for a moment before I bent and kissed his lips lightly. I turned to Mr. Blackbourne and found his eyes watching me, a curious light behind his eyes as his head tilted slightly. "And I'll see you downstairs with the notary soon?" I asked as I moved closer and he nodded, his head inclining slightly. "Okay." I said softly before kissing his cheek, my cheeks blushing at my boldness before I headed out of my room and downstairs.
"Morning." Marie mumbled when we ran into each other on the stairs.
"Morning." I gave her a searching look. "Ready to take care of this?" I asked and she nodded, her shoulders straightening before we went downstairs together, presenting a united front to our dad in the living room. Neither of us sat and we stared at him and crossed our arms across our chest at the same time.
"Morning Girls." He said. "Breakfast?"
"No thanks." I said as Marie also shook her head. "Are you ready to get things taken care of?"
His eyes narrowed at me. "I don't know where your manners went." He muttered.
I shrugged coolly. "I don't know where your respect went." I returned, raising an eyebrow at him. "But maybe we should just chalk it all up to the fact that you don't know me at all."
He gave me a long glance before sitting down and taking his own time, pulling his plate closer and starting to eat. "I'm not talking about anything until I've finished my breakfast, so you might as well sit down." He said, motioning us to the couch with a wave of his fork.
Marie and I exchanged a glance before resigning ourselves to at least the first part of the day being at his speed. I sort of regretted relinquishing the upper hand at this point when he slowly ate his breakfast and didn't declare himself done with breakfast for almost two hours. I was fuming at that point, sending glances at the camera that I knew was in the vent, in a silent plea for Mr. Blackbourne and the notary to show up. But I knew that they were actually waiting for me to call. And before I could call, we needed to actually talk about what the agreements were going to be.
He smirked at us when he finished. "Okay, now... I hope you've had a good night's sleep to reconsider your stances on a few things, girls." He said.
"Oh, we did." I said, Marie nodding her agreement.
"Good, good. Then it won't be an issue, we'll just get you both packed up and I'll go get a moving van to take your things to storage." He rubbed his hands together.
I scowled at him. "Did you go to bed last night and lose your mind?" I asked as Marie gaped at him in shock.
"No, I thought about what you said and I'm certain that you're wrong. Her mother is never going to return home and we are selling this house." He stated. "You're both going to be very happy at the new school."
I blinked and stared at him. "You have lost your mind." I said. "I'm not going and neither is Marie. We discussed this last night. We are going to have 6 months in this house, you're getting your money back from the school." I said, sitting up straighter. "You want medical report on your wife, I'll work on getting it because what you're saying and waiting on is not what I've heard about her condition." I crossed my arms again. "You want your new lady friend to know all your secrets? I can arrange for that too. If you don't agree to the terms, I will have no problem blowing your life wide open."
