Three knocks on the wooden door in one heart beat. Colton had to remind himself to breath. He would find her, he had to find her, he always found her.

The door was answered but not by whom he wished it to be. At the door stood a girl,  one or two years older than him perhaps, with blonde locks that were tied up in a disorder of a bun and eyes the color of angry rain clouds.

She was the girl who worked at the bakery, the one that made the cakes and sweets for of Krystal's nineteen birthdays, and many before that.

" Good morning ma'am, have you by any change see the princess pass by here recently?" Colton asked her.

The woman flattened her white apron. " The princess? No I have not. Why? Has she gone missing?"

" Yes, she ran away right after he speech this dawn. Do have any idea where she might have gone?" He asked her, desperation hinted on his voice.

The woman thought for a moment. Before she responded a glimmer caught Colton's attention. His eyes went to the floor to meet ones that peering through a wood board. The eyes watching him were bright green and ones he wouldn't soon forget.

" No I don't believe I know any places she may be." The woman replied.

His attention was brought back upon the gold hair girl before him. " Would you might if resent was to search the house?"

The woman hesitated. " Search the house?"

" Yes, I imagine that is what I said."

She gave his a smile that was surly forced, judging how it not once appeared her eyes. " Of course."

Colton stepped inside and the woman closed the door behind him. There was a click but Colton made nothing of it.

" You're a baker?" Colton asked as he examined the oven looking at every rock that formed it, making sure none were unseasonable.

" I'm village baker yes. I have made many of the princess' birthday cakes." The woman said.

" What do the villagers call you?" Colton asked as he moved on to the table and viewed underneath.

" Dia. Dia Lavio." She answered following behind him as Colton walked to the hand basin.

" And the princess is not in your home at this time." Colton turned to her suddenly making both of them stop in the their tracks.

" I already said, she is not here. I have not seen her nor spoken to her since her nineteenth birthday." Dia locked eyes with him, her eyes read that he was over staying his welcome.

Colton strolled to the plank of wood on the floor where he had seen the eyes stare at him. Now the wooden plank was on level with the rest of the ground as if nothing had been there.

" I wonder what might be under this house." Colton tapped his foot on the plank. " Many of the house in Lotia were built over old treasure grounds of the gods. No one has bee able to find one, but I suppose drunk stories have their way of going around. Many believe there is gold, jewels... weapons perhaps, hidden in tunnels beneath our own feet."

Before either of them could say another word the wooden plank under Colton's foot flow open and throw him to the side. Krystal climbed out of the cellar with new clothes and a thin but long and distinctly sharp sword in hand.

" Dia, plan sixteen." Krystal sounded and Dia ran out the room leaving Krystal and Colton with drawn weapons.

" Why do you keep running away?" Colton asked her striking at her head.

She spun out of the way and blocked with her sword. " Why do you keep chasing me?"

She stepped back letting the power in her back foot. She swung at his chest but her pushed her sword away. She twisted her sword over her head and strike at his neck.

" Why are you fighting me?" Krystal questioned as she block a blow to her stomach.

" Why are you trying to kill me?" He questioned back his voice full of fear and bewilderment.

" Don't change the conversation Colt." Krystal went for a blow to the right but was blocked by Coltons blade. While the blade collided Krystal moves her face closer to his. " Or should I say Captain."

Colton pushed her blade away. He thrusted to her chest but she side steps out of the way before moving the sword to the side. " Go back to the Palace and tell my father you could not find me."

Colton swings at her blade and throw in across the room to get it trapped  in the wooden table, handle facing up at the ceiling. He grabs her arms and pushes her slowly onto the table. He climbs over her with his weapon at her throat.

" And why in the name of Irus would I want to do that? What is in it for me?" He asked her bitterly.

" What do you want there to be in there for you Colton?" The princess asked with a smirk. " You could always stay with me you know. We could go back to the Castle at noon. "

Before he could answer her, she kicked him in the chest pushing him off her and grabbed over her head to pull out her weapon from the wood. She stood up and face her partner.

"Dia!" She yelled and Colton soon found himself being rapped in purple silk.

He felt as if he where in a caterpillar cocoon once Dia ran out of silk.  His feet and his head were the only this exposed, the rest of his body were trapped in the fabric.

" So what do you say Colton, either one of those you may choose, stay with me or go and tell my father that you could not find me. Of course there is another which is for us to through you with the pigs and wait for you to be found." Dia stepped in front of him.

Krystal observed him from head to toe with her bright green eyes full of amusement while Dia giggled at the sight in front of her.

Colton sighed. He knew she would throw him with the pigs. She didn't have any regrets, none that Colton know of so to speak. Ever since the day they had meet to right at that moment, Colton didn't know a time Krystal ever felt any sort of regret for her choices. Her choices always had a reason.

" I will take your second offer." He sighed. " After all what more can happen with spending a day with you."

Krystal glanced at Dia with a raised eyebrow and Dia grinned like a infant.

" Are you sure you can't come with us into the woods?" Krystal asks Dia as they pull away form a hug.

" I'll be fine just go. Grandma White is waiting for you isn't she?" Dia smiled.

" Yes she is."

" Then go!" Dia grinned. " Also tell her that I want her cookie recipe. Those sweets are to die for I tell you!"

" Alright." Krystal laughed and started her horse on the path to the woods, Colton and his stallion right beside her.

Krystal took one last glace over her shoulder at Dia, one last wavy and one last shared smile.
