The house wasn't to large, but it was great, Colton thought as he approached it. He had seen many cabins and none as big as the one Krystal had just taken him to.
It reminded Colton of a witch house, or what he imagines to be one.
Krystal turned to him. " Stay here."
He did as she said, after all he trusted her. Even if sometimes he questioned her motives.
Krystal walked up to the door and knocked three times at the side of the doorknob, four times on the top and five at the bottom. Then with a finger in the center, pushed the door with little to none effort.
The door swung open and Krystal waved him in before entering herself.
The inside was dark even with the raging autumn sun out the dusty window. In the center of the room they had entered, was an black empty collagen with a fire place right behind it. The walls were covered with shelves which in themselves were covered with books and bottles of herbs and other much the same ingredients.
Before Colton could examine the whole room a elderly woman walked in with a large grin planted on her wrinkly face. The old woman had white wild hair that went to her feet and green eyes the same as Krystal's. Her nails had grown to half the length of her fingers and she wore a robe that was the darkest shade of blue. Her face was covered in warts and a mole hung on her bottom right lip.
" ICE!" The old woman chocked.
" Grandma White, It has been awfully long since the last time I saw you!" Krystal grinned her eyes twinkling.
" It's only been a night my child." The old woman chuckled and she pinched Krystal's cheek.
" Is it crime for a girl to miss her grandmother for a night." Krystal faked hurt.
" You are a woman now Ice, as for the that it is not, but I wouldn't be surprised if you father forces that. To hell, I'm curious as to how you are here now, I was certain he would a forbidden you to speak with me let along see me." The old woman walked over to a small wooden table next to the collagen and took a sat in one of the even smaller wooden stools.
" You know me grandma, I'm a wild one." Krystal joked as she sat down across from her grandmother.
The old woman cackled, " That you are my child."
She the turned to Colton. " And how may you be my son?"
" Grandma White this is Colton Astra, Colton this is my grandmother.' Krystal introduces.
Colton bowed to the old woman. "It is a pleasure Ma'am White."
" What I have I became royalty over night? Sit down my son, Have some tea, and stop it with the ma'am the name really doesn't suit me." Grandma White amused patting the set met to her.
Colton raised his head and took a seat before hesitating. He turned to her and smiled with a light nod, when his head turned to a wonderful smell coming from the table right across from him. He saw a tea pot with smoking herb tea already set with three tea cups set for each of them. Colton might have not seen it, but he was sure that that tea pot was not there before.
" Now Ice tell me how it went last night." Grandma White asked her grand daughter.
" Mother and father were completely outraged but in there eyes I saw that they were terrified by you." Krystal giggled.
" Getting them weak I see." The old woman winked at her granddaughter.
" Of course. Have you heard word from-"
" Nothing, but If there is a i do you will be the first to be informed." The old woman smile, " Now tell me about last night Colton.'
At the sound of his name he snapped back to reality and looked away from the china. " I'm sorry."
" A blacking out. Typical for this stage of the changing." Grandma White whisper to Krystal.
" I'm sorry Ma'am."
" Boy, How many times do I have to say, I'm not royalty. You can cut the royal guard mum bow jumbo and call me Grandma White." The old woman Protested.
" I Apologize." Colton bowed his head lightly. " What was the question?"
" Grandma was asking you about what happened Last night?" Krystal smiled at him her warm child smile. The one she typically used of guards or servants to get was she wanted, but this one seemed real, as if it was only for him and him alone.
" Last night. I - I don't remember?" She couldn't know what happened last night, could she?
" Did you wake up. Heard a strange noise perhaps." The old woman smiled the smile only kind of ladies could master, the smile that somehow made your mouth move without your approval.
" Yes, there was, but," He feels something on his hand. her looked down on the table where his hand was resting and saw Krystal's small hand over his.
" It's okay Colt. Grandma knows." Krystal smiles. Her eyes shown in the noon sun, her face seemed so delicate, she seemed so relaxed, so calm, so in control. Which relaxed him. He squeezed her hand and smiled back.
He took a deep breath and turned back to Grandma White. " I heard a growl. Deep and low. Something certainly none human."
" Then I followed it to Krystal's room. When i got there she was gone." He remembered how afraid he had been of losing the princess. His heart had been torn, he had felt nothing only pain.
Krystal's grip tightened on his. He turned to face her. " I'm here. I'll was be here."
He smiled at her. " I'll keep it that way."
" I have no doubt, First Mate."
" Wouldn't let you down Captain."
" I hate to interrupted but may we please continue." Grandma White asked.
" Of course. I found her in the garden, She was standing and watching a frozen flower. She pricked her finger on the thorns and fell. I trued to awake her and once I did her eyes... glow." He Explained.
" I see. It seems like it has began." Grandma White said dreamily as she got up and walked to one of the book cases.
" What has began grandma." Krystal stood up as well.
" You will see, It will take a matter of time." Grandma White said and took a pouch from the book case. The pouch was made for brown leather and looked older than grandma white herself. She handed it to Krystal. " Her take this. It will help you I promise. "
Colton stood up and looked over Krystal shoulder at the bag. " What is it Grand White."
They looked up and they were no longer in the cabin. They were at the front of the palace where a crowd rared.
" EXECUTION!"
