"mama." i called as i look out the cage, me and my ancestor stayed in.
"um." my mother Esther answered while she sews my damage cloth, a cloth that all my ancestors shared for years. i look away from the cage and look at her.
"is..is there anyway someone could get out of this cage?" i ask, my mother look up and look at me for a while before going back to what she was doing.
"this cage, you could escape this cage easily, its all rusted, the walls are old that just a strong kick could send you out in a minute." she said then look back at me. "but there is a consequences for it. so don't you dare think about escaping." she warned and went back sewing. i tried to shut my mouth but have been curios since i was a little girl and everything just doesn't sim right to me. i needed to know why we were here and why we had to be here for the rest of our lifes.
"how did we end up here." i ask and walk to sit down next beside her in a rusted bed that was more of a pure iron then a bed, the iron was covered by card board which hurts really bad, in this bed was also the bed i was born, the bed my ancestor were born and the bed they slept on, you could just imagine how awful this place smells like, this was also the bed my dad died on, the bed my ancestor died on and the thought disgust me.
"i already told you that." she groan, i sigh, i just didn't get it, why did we have to suffer for a wrong that my great great great great great great grandfather did. He broke the third rule, i didn't, mama didn't, so why us. the first king of civiliana made three rule when he reigned, the first rule was that if you murdered anyone and you were caught, you and your generation would have the same fate the person you murdered did, they would make you suffer until your last breath and so would your generation.
the second rule was if you ever violated a woman sexually, you and your generation would be sold to the cruel men in the town to do the same thing you did. that's why when you land in this fate, you must make sure you never have a girl born to your family, they made this rule thinking it would reduce the violation of women in town.
and the third rule was if you ever tried to hurt the king, you would be sent to prison for the rest of your life and that also goes to your generation which is where i landed on. it was when the third king of civiliana punished my great great great great great grandmother for trowing fish water on him, that when when my great great great great great grandfather tried to hurt the king which landed him here with my ancestors and me and my generation to come. but i didn't want that to happen, i want to change things, i just don,t know how, sometimes i feel lucky that my grandfather didn't end up in the first rule, but when i also think of the people who have freedom to do anything they like, it just doesn't sim right at all, why cant someone carry his punishment by themselves and they have to add innocent people like me and my mama. the people that ended up here with my grandfather was not much cause no one is stupid enough to hurt the king but my grand father did and the other four that ended up here, it was like in this jail they start making they're own rule, giving you your partner from this disgusting place, i dont think am ready to spend all my life here.
"what is the consequence if you try to get out." i ask my mama. she look at me suspiciously, like she knew i wanted to get out but then said.
"you'll get sold to anyone in town, it doesn't matter if you get killed or raped by that person for all i know the person can tell you to kill yourself and you must do it, so be happy and appreciate what you have." she advised and i just couldn't appreciate this, this wasn't happiness this isn't something to appreciate.
"but what eve you get sold to someone, as you said he could tell you to do anything, what eve the person sets you free?" i argued with curiosity.
"stop talking foolishly Natasha." mama said, i wanted to talk back until i heard guards running and people gasping.
