The FBI showed up just in time. Breathing a sigh of relief, Neal pulled Alex into a hug, "You saved me again," Neal breathed. They pulled apart and looked into each other's eyes with their foreheads touching, "You saved me," Alex smiled. Caught up in the moment, Neal put his hands behind her head and their lips locked. After what seemed like a long time, they pulled apart to see that Sara saw everything that happened between them. But Neal knew the moment he kissed Alex, what Alex and him had between them weren't over like he told Sara before and that the one he really wants to be with was Alexandra Hunter.
Back in the FBI white collar devision, Sara stared daggers at Alex who was already nervous enough being a con artist trapped in the Feds conference room even though they gave her immunity for the time being . Neal sat next to her trying to sooth her nerves and he held her hand through the whole meeting. Occasionally he cast a glance at Sara who sat across the table from him, he knew he had to explain things to her as soon as possible but there hasn't been a second to spare since the FBI showed up at the scene to save them and part of him actually hopes that spare second would never come.
After what seemed like forever, the meeting came to an end. Everyone left the conference room except for Neal, Alex and Sara. Right before Neal and Alex could step out the door, Sara closed it, and they came face-to-face. "Do we really have to do this now?" Neal questioned. "And when do you suggest would be a better time? Next lifetime?" Sara snapped. She turned her glare to Alex and raised her hand, only to be stopped by Neal's quick reflexes, he caught her hand and stood in front of Alex protecting her from being slapped by his angry "Ex"- well, she wasn't exactly his girlfriend or anything but they did kiss. "So I guess it isn't over afterall." Sara's eyes started to tear. Neal released Sara's hand but still stood between the two girls. "Believe me when I said I wasn't lying," Neal said, "Things really were over between us at that time." By now, tears were streaming down the sides of Sara's face, "But it isn't over is it? What you thought at that moment was gone is still there and it's stronger than ever." Sara turned back to Alex, "Appreciate it while it lasts, he did it to me, he could do it to you too. Don't think you've won yet." She stormed out of the room and slammed the door behind her, causing many to look up at her questionably but not daring to say word in her presence.
Neal turned to see what he thought would be a rather scared girl but all he saw a smiling Alex looking at him. "What are you smiling at?" Neal eyed her amused. "You defended me." She crossed her arms, "I could have defended myself, and you knew that." Neal smiled and pulled her close, "From now on, I always will. And you are going to grow so bored of me." He wrapped his arm tightly around her waist as she laughed. "That is if you can catch me." She taunted him as she wormed out of his arms and sprinted to the other side of the room. "Oh, you bet I will," Neal grinned as he chased her around the room. They started a game of cat and mouse in the conference room. Soon enough he caught her and held a laughing Alex in his arms as his mouth closed down on hers and they kissed passionately.
