Dream or Fate?

Chapter Two

          Yesterday, my brother is the one waiting for me and today, I am thirty minutes earlier, all I did was practice more in my piano skills and went to school.

          I was still walking down the hallway when I can already hear the sound of a piano. Since Sir Mark told me I am his only piano student, my guess is he was the one playing the piano. The way he plays, it’s so nice and relaxing. I wish I was as good as he is.

“I never knew you were that good in play…..” I stopped when I realized it was not Sir Mark who was playing the piano but another guy, new teacher?? But he looks like just my age, but maybe he was only young-looking.

“Oh, hey Ms Campbell” Sir Mark sitting on the couch in the corner said “Meet your new classmate, Mr. Parker”

“Oh hi, nice meeting you” I greeted.

“Nice meeting you too, call me Jay by the way. Jay Parker.” He said

“Oh, right, I’m Celine, Celine Campbell.” I said remembering he only knows my family name “People call me Cece (C.C) “

          I wonder why I told him my nick name; I mean I only let people really close to me know my nickname.  Something tells me that I can tell this guy my nick name.

“Well, Hi Cece, I don’t have a nick name though.”

“It doesn’t matter; I think Jay is a nice name.”

I remembered my best friend who has a nick name Jay, since his name was Jrron. But I guess only memories were left when I left our school.

“But I thought you only have one student in piano class as what you have told me yesterday.” I said turning to Sir Mark

“Well, he just arrived today.” He replied

“You don’t mind to have classmate, do you?” It was Jay who asked

“Oh, I don’t really mind, I was just confused.”

And so our piano class continued. I feel so envious of Jay, he plays the piano so gracefully, almost like a girl, he is way better than me. But something inside me feels different. It’s like I feel so light when I am with this guy. I never felt this way before with other guys, especially when, my crush last year had a girlfriend. I never enjoyed the sight of men, well excluding Jrron, my only best guy friend since he is so fun to be with.

Surprisingly, Jay, is in all of my classes, which means we are together the whole day. It seems like we share the same interests in music. Is it coincidence??

The bell for lunch finally rang and we went to the cafeteria to buy our lunch. Unlike other schools cafeteria, our cafeteria has only few people, since not many people study here, well since this school’s tuition fee is so expensive too. I am not really the one to brag but yeah, we are kind of rich. My mom owns a music center where every Saturday, students go there to have music lessons. My dad owns a company and our house is pretty big too.

“So, I’m just curious, how did you learn to love music?” Jay asked

“Well, As far as I know, I started loving music since I was a child” I said while chewing my food in my mouth, “I was so happy hearing my family members play music instruments and I also want to learn.”

“Wow, that’s nice” he said

“What’s nice?” I asked

“Well, your family is musical. I mean all of your family members loves music and plays instruments, you could be a band.”

“Actually, we are a band”

“Really!!?? That is so amazing!”

“Well, we play at our church every Sunday and we also held concert every time there is an event”

“Now, I remember, you are the one playing guitar in the band called MYUZIK” he said

“Yeah” I said “So, you heard about us, huh.”

“I wish my family are all music lovers like yours, My siblings only cared for their grades and my parents are all work” he said with a sigh

Before I can say anything, something interrupted our conversation

“Well, well, well, look who had a new found friend” Kevin said as he was approaching to our table.

“You’re Kevin Campbell right, the singer in MYUZIK” Jay stood as he shakes Kevin’s hand.

“Yep, that’s me” he said with a smirk on his face, “I’m pretty famous, aren’t i?”

I just rolled my eyes at what he said, seriously, famous? Well, whatever.

The bell rang signaling the end of our lunch time so Jay and I went to our violin class together.

“We have to go to our violin class now, Kev” I said, walking straight past him.

He grabbed my arm and whispered something in my ear

“He’s a good catch” he smirked

“Seriously, we’re just friends” I rolled my eyes and went to class

Our violin lesson was so easy but I noticed Jay having a hard time. I guess we were fair since I was also having a hard time playing the piano.

“Ouch, my finger hurts” he said

“Well, okay, I’ll give both of you a five minute break.” Our teacher told us

“Seriously, you can play guitar well, but why are you having a hard time playing violin?” I asked

“The strings of this violin is harder to press” he said

“Well, I can see that.” Noticing his fingertips “You are a beginner?” I asked

“Is it obvious?” he asked

“Well, I can know from your fingers”

Our afternoon classes were done and we head to the parking lot. Before he went to his car, he offered me if I need a ride, I told him, I will wait for my brothers. He was about to enter the car when he remembered something

“Can you teach me violin if we had a free time? Please” he pleaded

“Hmmm…” pretending to think “Sure”

“Yaay!! Thanks!” he said like a child

“But on one condition” I said

His smile faded and frowned, not knowing what would my condition be

“Sure, what is it?”

“Help me with my piano” I said with a smile

“Sure” he said without even thinking

He seemed like a nice guy. For the first time, I feel like guys can be nice too. Well, I already know my brothers and dad is nice but I mean other guys. No, no, no, I cannot feel this way about him. He is just like me, not interested in girls but only in music. I cannot have my heart break again just because of a guy again.

My brothers went to the parking lot few minutes later. We headed to the coffee shop as usual before going straight home.

Every day in school feels like every day in a musical concert. It feels like heaven. I am starting to love my life.
