The Elle Sisters Series: Avery

Chapter 2

"Avery, are you okay?" Dad asked me.

Just then air entered my lungs and I was able to breath okay again, I just nod at my father. They all looked at me uncertain if I was telling the truth or I was still choking.

"I'm fine." I said to them.

"Okay then, Avery, Audrey. This is Cameron, he is the son of Mr. And Mrs. Mitchell." Mom said after a few minutes had past. I smiled at him while Audrey just nod her head at him.

"Cameron, this is Mr. And Mrs. Elle." Mrs. Mitchell said.

"Nice to meet you." Cameron said to my mom and dad, shaking hands with them in the process.

"And this is Avery and Audrey, daughters of Mr. And Mrs. Elle." Mrs. Mitchell.

"Hello." He said and we just smiled back at him.

"Okay let's eat." Dad said and we all started eating.

Everyone participated in the conversation earlier except for me because I was keeping an eye out on Cameron and on why the hell is he and his parents are here, I mean this is a family lunch. 

"Avery, you'd been awfully quiet, are you sure you are okay?" Dad said and I was snapped back to reality.

"Its just that I want to savour the food and besides I have nothing to say about-" wait what were they talking about? "Your topic as of now." I said with a cheeky smile that later turned into a grimace because Audrey gave me a look that says 'wrong-thing-to-say'.

"Oh, honey. Haven't you heard what your father said?" Mom asked me.

"Of course I heard." I said again.

"And what do you think?" She asked.

Oh. Shit. I look at Audrey for help and she just shrugged at me. Well it looks like i'm all alone now. I study each of the faces of the people seated on the table, Mom is happy same as Dad and Mr. And Mrs. Mitchell, Audrey is uncertain, Cameron is horrified. I have my answer now.

"I think its a great idea." I said looking straight at Cameron and he became more horrified. I had to bite my lip to keep myself from laughing out loud. The parents let out a sigh at what I said.

"What?! Are you out of your mind?" Cameron said more horrified and I just realized how serious he was.

"Why would I be? I mean, uhm. Wait. What were you talking about anyway?" I said. "I mean i'm sorry that I wasn't litening earlier, could you repeat it please."

Everyone just looked at me like they just want to slap me, I mean i'd want to slap myself too.

"We were talking how it seems fitting that you two lived together." Dad said.

"Wait, who's you two?" I asked them unsure if she means about me and Audrey living together or me with someone else.

"You and Cameron." Mr. Elle said and Dad gives him a look. Wait what does that look mean.

"Wait. What!" I said but more like shouted at them. They all grimaced at me. "Why would it seem fitting anyway?" I asked more calm this time.

"Uhm." Mom said and looks at Dad.

"Uhm." Dad said and looks at Mr. Mitchell.

"Uhm." Mr. Mitchell said and looks at Mrs. Mitchell.

"Uhm." Mrs. Mitchell said and looks at Cameron.

"Don't look at me." Cameron said and look at the last person left to look at, Audrey.

"Oh, for fucks sake you two are gonna be married soon after graduation." Audrey said annoyed. I felt my mom moved her legs to kick Audrey.
