The day of the party, Yujin wore the dress bought by Jungkook. After putting the final touch on her long wavy hair, she wore her pum shoes as she went out of the door. She locked the door and as soon as she turned around, she saw Jungkook stood in front of her. She was slightly surprised but managed to say,"Jungkook shii? What are you doing here?"
He took out a pair of silver heels and showed them to her while saying,"Wear these instead."
He kneeled down and helped her to change into the heels he brought for her. After putting them on, he got up and smiled.
"Shall we?" Jungkook gave her a smile while putting out his hand.
Yujin put her hand on his hand and he led her to his motorbike. Upon reaching the party, both Yujin and Jungkook wore their respective masks. Jungkook then positioned his arm on his waist and urged Yujin to hold his arm. She slowly held his arm and they walked into the party. The party was filled with their classmates and everyone seemed to have a fun time. Meanwhile, Haeryong was waiting for Jungkook impatiently. She looked around the room but it was so difficult to recognise him among the people who wore masks. She then decided to walked around the room and to look Jungkook's distinct features - eyes and his smile.
At the same time, Yujin seemed unfamiliar with the raging party and felt uncomfortable. Jungkook noticed her uneasiness and lowered his voice,"Hey, relax. Loose yourself and have fun."
Hearing his words, Yujin breathed in deeply and decided to have a drink. She parted with Jungkook and walked over to the beverage area. While Jungkook went to socialise with his classmates. Yujin carefully took the glass of water from the waiter and looked around the party. She saw Jungkook talking and laughing with some of his friends. Then, as she was looking at him, Jungkook glanced over to where she was and curved a smile which made her slightly blushed. She turned around and tried to calm her heart. Just then, someone tapped on her shoulder.
"Excuse me. But have you seen Jungkook?" Haeryong asked.
When Yujin heard her voice, she froze but managed to point out where Jungkook was. Haeryong skipped to her direction and she watched her go towards him happily.
"Jungkook~There you are!" Haeryong linked arms with him.
Jungkook was surprised to see Haeryong and slowly removed her arms gently but she strongly attached to him. Jungkook asked his friends for a minute and brought Haeryong to somewhere private.
"What are you doing?" Jungkook asked Haeryong.
"What did I do..?" Haeryong sounded confused.
"Your skinship made my friends think that you and I have some kind of relationship which WE don't," Jungkook emphasised.
"But I like you," Haeryong confessed.
"But I like someone else," Jungkook told her.
"Who was it?" Haeryong probed him.
Before he could answer, someone made an announcement,"Ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for coming for today's special party...."
Jungkook looked around the place to look for Yujin. He saw Yujin standing alone near the food beverage area and quickly approached her. Haeryong quickly caught up with him and saw Jungkook grabbed the girl's hand in front of him. Haeryong did not know it was Yujin behind the mask. As soon as the slow music was put on, Jungkook held out his hand with a gentleman gesture while saying,"May I have this dance?"
Yujin was baffled and hesitated as she did not know how to dance. Jungkook waited impatiently and grabbed her hand. He pulled her hand and brought her to the center of the dance floor. He put his hand on her back and put her hand on his hand and his shoulder.
"Jungkook shii..! I don't know how to dance in this kind of song," Yujin said in gritted teeth.
"Just follow my lead," Jungkook told her and swayed her.
Yujin followed him smoothly and everyone was awed by their dance. Eventually, every couple joined in to the center. Haeryong watched them with anger and stormed up. Jungkook gave a sigh of relief and said softly,"Let's go to the garden."
Jungkook led her to the garden while gently pulled her hand. Once they were in the garden, Jungkook took out his mask and fanned himself.
"That was super close," Jungkook said.
"You're trying to get away from Haeryong, am I right?" Yujin guessed correctly.
Jungkook snapped his finger as a form of correct while looking to the front.
"So, do you have fun?" Jungkook asked while adjusting his fringe.
"It's okay," Yujin shrugged.
Jungkook noticed her disappointed voice and turned to her. She still did not took off her mask.
"Aren't you hot wearing the mask all night?" Jungkook asked.
"...A little. But I'd better not took it off. Didn't want Haeryong or anyone to notice that I'm here uninvited," Yujin sighed.
Jungkook stepped forward to her and stood close proximity to her. He gently took off her mask and stared at her. When he did that, Yujin began to fluster and was about to put back on quickly before anyone sees but Jungkook prevent her from doing so. He grabbed her wrist and said softly,"No one will see us."
He then continued while staring at her with gentle eyes,"You look really beautiful tonight."
Her cheeks started to become red and she could feel his hot breath. He then leaned forward and his lips were getting closer to hers. She knew what he was about to do and hurriedly did something to avoid it. She pretended to sneeze and apologised,"...Sorry.."
Jungkook took a step back and lightly wiped his face.
"...It's okay..," Jungkook said.
Yujin secretly heaved a sigh of relief and put back her mask. She then fanned herself while glancing at him.
