It was a regular day, me and my best friend Cpl Aston Summer were playing the guitar and I was singing. Then after that we played basketball with group of buddies then went to the chow hall and ate some food. Our sergeant came in and said gear up we going on a patrol. I went back my side of the tent and put my gear, helmet, boots, then put my backpack on then got my gun. We were out the gate and we were off on the patrol.
I was in first humvee with Cpl Aston,Pvt Justin and PFC Lucas. I was at the top of the humvee with the machine gun then everything went black. I woke up and I see smoke and screaming in pain then door opens and someone pull us out. I saw it was PFC Chris King looking over me with this look that. I look at him and say plz don't me die. He says I won't and don't take save ur breathe. I say give me ur hand. He give me his hand, I took a letter out of my pocket then say tell them im sorry. He say don't say that plz don't leave. I smile and black out.
I woke up in the medevac and a field medic working on Aston then another one working on me. I look at Aston and he look at me with scared look. I was in pain so I'm screaming. The medic gave me morphin but I didn't really work so he gave me more. The pain was short of gone. Then i black out
That the last thing I remember before waking up here in the hospital in Germany. The doctor told me that I lost my legs above the knees, 50% of my hear, I have some 3rd degree burns and 2 level head trauma. The doctor said I can't be in the marines anymore that I have to retire. I did 15 years in the marines as a infantrymen. Now I'm just wounded veteran. I was awarded the Purple Heart.
