Molly was not sure how she managed to get herself to her 9am. She hadn't gotten up before 10 for the past 3 months and was now paying the prices trying to stifle down yawns stood outside the lab door.
Eventually, the lab was opened and Molly set up at one of the desks near the right-hand side by herself. Everyone seemed to have formed friendships and began sitting at all the desks bar her. She sank in her seat and began to play with the cupboards hoping that no one ended up sitting next to her , it was the last thing she needed, making small talk was not her forte .
As the clock drew nearer to 9 she seemed to have got her wish , that is until a sullen looking student came in with a long trench coat and blue scarf and plonked himself down in the only available seat. Next to Molly.
Molly tried to hide her discontent and listened to the lecturer rattle on about pipet techniques and set about tasking them to pipet water into different tubes to practise their technique. Molly picked up the pipet and began the boring task of moving water but the boy next to her seemed to do nothing. She carried on working till an hour had passed and the boy still hadn't moved.
"er... hi..um.... you ok?" Molly had tried to seek some sign of life from the boy.
" hmmmm" the boy didn't even look at molly
"uh.... do you know what to do"
"yes"
Molly sighed and carried on filling the worksheet they had been given. If he wanted to not work , then so be it.
The lecturer called out that the lab had finished and that they could start handing in worksheets. Before he had even finished the boy stood and practically ran out of the lab. Molly sighed and packed up the workstation and collected her sheets up. She noticed the boys sheets and to her surprise found all the blanks filled in. She picked it up and handed it in with her own work but before she did she took note of the name... Sherlock Holmes
