As expected, all the lights were still on because for some reason she doesn't know what the definition of a goodnight's sleep was. Annabeth let me borrow her car keys a lot because it was her fault that I don't have a car. A while ago, she had crashed it, and there was no way I could get a new one. So I now used hers. And I had a hunch on where Nico might be. I knocked on her door. There was no answer. I knocked harder, until I was practically banging at it. Finally the door creaked open, and a disheveled looking Annabeth peaked out.

"Oh my gods Will, what do you want now!" She snapped.

I raised my eyebrows. "Is someone pregnant with a mini Percy?" She kneed me in the balls and I crumpled. "With that attitude, I wouldn't be surprised," I grumbled through the pain.

"What's going on in here," I heard a voice call. I looked up at Annabeth. There was a mixed expression of annoyance and frustration on her face, a special one she saved specifically for-

"Hey Percy!" I called. "You only just turned 18! Couldn't you wait for a few years?"

I watched a shirtless Percy emerge from out of a room. Annabeth hid her face in embarrassment. I acknowledged Percy with a knowing look. Of course I knew nothing like that was happening. Annabeth was way too unattached to Percy for them to ever do anything like this. Percy, on the other hand, didn't know that I knew that they were still clean. He paled and stuttered. "Will I swear it's not what it looks like!"  I smirked. "Uhuh yeah, I believe you."

Annabeth clenched her fists. "Enough of this." She snapped. She turned to me, and her face remained emotionless. "Will go home. Unless you need something. In that case make it quick," Annabeth said, snapping her fingers to add emphasis. I almost shivered. If annabeth were an inanimate object, she would be a history book, all facts and more homework.

"I need the car," I blurted out. Annabeth's glare lessened a little and she went to get it. That left me and percy standing alone in awkward silence. The shirtlessness also didn't really help one bit.

I cleared my throat. But I couldn't make any words come out. I didn't have to, luckily. Percy did for me.

"Er, how's Nico?" he asked. I wanted to say that he was fine and end the conversation. But I felt that he wasn't fine, and that he was in severe trouble. My instincts had been wrong before but not this time. I absolutely and positively knew that something was happening, and it drove me crazy. "Nico is in danger," I blurted out. Percy's eyes widened.

"How do you know!" he asked, also seeming worried. I suppressed the feeling of jealousy because only I'm supposed to be worried for Nico. After all he has no known family and I'm the only one who even knows about his undercover artwork that he's been hiding and making sure no one else knew. Percy began leaning on the wall and closed his eyes. "If my mom knows I drove you and Annabeth out, I'll be killed. Might as well begin my eulogy right now," he muttered. I forced myself to crack a smile. "That would be pretty hard to do though," I pointed out. Percy scowled.

"Oh come on!" he flicked a hair back, which ended up popping back even worse than before. I resisted turning away. That strand was torture for my OCD.

"Will isn't wrong," Annabeth pointed out. I hadn't even noticed that she had come back. Percy pouted, an expression I used to think was really cute, before I met Nico. She jingled the keys. "The question is, do you even know where to go?" As I struggled for an answer, my phone began buzzing. Hoping it wasn't my mom I picked it up. I got something even worse, that I've only seen in my worst nightmares. I heard static at first, and some rain in the distance as well. I heard a voice shout 'let go of me!' As my chest was turning into ice, there were more sounds, which I could identify as grunts.

"Nico!" I yelled into the phone. "Please respond with something if it's you." Nico's voice cried out an address that I couldn't comprehend. Then glass broke and I couldn't hear anything else. I dropped my phone in extreme shock. It skidded across the floor for a few seconds before coming to a stop, around the same time I was able to snap out of it. Both Annabeth and Percy were looking at with curiosity and apprehension. Percy broke the silence.

"So, I guess the heroics begin now right?"

HIIIIIIIIIIIII MUFFINS!!! A question... why are all my books about rescuing someone? Just... why?
