Lucile's P.O.V
4 months before the incident

The lights shinning bright on my face and I hear the crowd yelling my name. I did it, I tell myself,  I actually did it. And just as I was about to walk off the stage the lights fade out and so do cheers. A sound is replaced like some sort of shriek. The sound grew and grew until my ears couldn't take it. That is until reality hit.

"Stupid alarm," I yelled, " if you were a living creature I'd beat the crap out of you." It was the first day of sophomore year and I was not ready for it. I used to like school but you know that was in kindergarten when you were able to sleep as a grade. I reached over on my phone to see it exploding with texts from my friends. I tried to catch up with all the texts but since it's a group chat someone kept texting and I would lose my place.
Me: you people ready for today?
Clara: honey, do you really think I'm ready? Have you met me?
Jason: SAMEEE
Connor: please tell me someone is there already. I'm leaving my house..
Gabriela: I'm like crossing the street to get there if that helps.
Lauren: I'm here
Connor: okay good
Me: What the crap I just woke up and you guys are already there!?
Jason: if I were you I'd hurry up a bit.. Just saying..

I looked at the time. 7:36. He always exaggerated a bit ,but I did listen to him. The good thing was that I didn't live that far just about 7 minutes but still I wanted to look presentable. I got out of bed and went directly to get ready for the day. Good thing I packed everything yesterday and picked out my outfit. My friends tend to mess with me because I do that but I don't really care. At least I don't lose my things like they do.

Most people like to wear cute new outfits on their first day of school, but me not that much. I had chosen what I like to call my "Superwholock" outfit, but today was just "superwho" since I wasn't going to wear my extra coat layer. It was TARDIS blue shirt with the sketch of a Dalek on it, navy blue plaid shirt sweater, a pair of jeans, and my white converse. I was fully ready for the day I went to the mirror to see if I had missed anything, but no it all seemed normal like it should. I went to get my bag which was next to my desk and out I went.

You'd think that I'd be driving by now since I'm a sophomore but no. Sadly I had to wait a few months to get my actual drivers license. Which meant either one of my parents had to take me. My mom was waiting for me in the kitchen all ready to go.
"Good morning, I'm ready for the worst day ever" I said
"Aw come on sweetie you'll be fine" she said.
" if you say so" I replied.

I glanced at the clock 7:48.
" Mom as much as I dislike school I can't be late" I told her.
She glanced up from her phone. She was playing candy crush.. Again. I'm pretty sure that's what she does 70% of the time.
"Get the keys and meet me by the car I'll just get my purse." She said
"You mean that one that's right next to you on the counter?.." I asked her
"Oh.. Yea.. This one.." She replied.

As I was getting out of the car to go in the building I heard my name. "Hey Lucile wait up," they yelled. I turned around to see it was my best friend Finn. He was once in the group chat but he left after an argument with Jason. They're fine now but he still doesn't to be in it again. We met two years ago most of our group of friends were in the same algebra class so that was how we all got together. He was a a bit taller than me with dark brown eyes and also dark brown hair. "Lucile, are you okay? You know you're going to be fine it's just another school year," he said. I hadn't realized I had drifted off. We were already inside the building. "Yes I know it will be fine. No need to worry about me. What's your first period?" I asked him. He checked his schedule."Athletics. You?" He replied. I had my schedule on my binder. Since he was a bit taller than me he could also see my schedule. "English" we both said at the same time. "Aw look at that your favorite subject," he said sarcastically. My kind of death stare toward him was enough to make him shut up. I didn't like English nor social studies. They never were my strongest subjects I preferred electives or sometimes math and science. "What time is it?" He asked. I checked 8:01. " It is 8:01. I think I'm just going to go find my locker" I told him. He nodded and went away to go to the gym I imagined.

I found my locker and took my side purse and pencil case out of my bag and left my lunch. I didn't really like to carry my bag with me. I got used to it after 7th grade, for some reason they wouldn't let us have our bags. I checked to see what room number my English class was. Room 115. I knew I had time left to find my friends but this school was kind of big and more people were starting to roam the hallways. So I decided to find the classroom and wait outside if the teacher wasn't there yet. I was kind of glad English was first period. I may not like the subject ,but my grades are better in it when I had it first period.

Lunch time

I'm pretty sure that everyone's favorite period is lunch. If anyone said it I'm not sure I'd really talk to them. I had stopped at my locker and gotten my lunch and began to go with the rest of the crowd of people going to lunch. When I went in the cafeteria my friend Clara was waving at me to go sit with them. Thankfully all of us had the same lunch period. Clara, Connor, Katherine, Valerie, and Elizabeth were the only ones who were there. The rest were in the lunch line. "No matter how many time we tell them they'll never bring their lunch will they?" Finn said while sitting next to me. "Nope don't think so," Katherine replied to him. "How's your first day of school so far guys?" Asked Connor. A few goods and mehh were replied. Then Madie showed up sitting next to Clara who was in front of me. "You guys won't believe who I have to sit next to in chemistry," She said. "Omg who!?," answered Finn sarcastically. I kind of giggled ,but then Madie gave him small death stare. "Who?" I asked. "Natalie." She answered. The ones who were there stopped what they were doing and looked at Madie. "Oh honey I'm so sorry for you," Elizabeth said.

Natalie Thompson was once my best friend but in 7th grade people started rumors and very bad ones. Someone had convinced her that I had started them ,but I was doing the complete opposite. I was the one who tried telling people that they weren't true. You'd think she would've believed me since I was her best friend but sadly no. She's been extremely rude to me and my friends. The rest of them had different reasons of course.

I had zoned out again and they had noticed so to save some embarrassment I got up and said I had to throw my trash away. Good thing I had actually finished my lunch. As I was about to turn around I heard a voice saying " Well. Well. Well. If it isn't Lucile Meza" it didn't bother me that they used my name. No. No. It was the voice. The one voice that I was trying to avoid this entire day. I kind of glanced to my right which was where my friends were they were all either looking at me or her. I slowly turned around and just as I had imagined. Natalie Thompson.
