Ch. I

Early morning before school:

"Janae! You're going to miss the bus!" Reminded Janae's mom. "I'm almost done!" replied Janae. "I can't be late on the first day of school. I hate being the new kid. I really hope it goes well." she thought.

At school:

The bell rang. Everyone rushed to their classes while Janae just stared at her schedule. She had Science first but didn't know where this class was. She walked up to a teacher in the school halls, " Excuse me sir, I'm Janae. Would you mind telling me where room 302 is? Its the Science room." The teacher replied, "Haha nice to meet you Janae. I'm Mr. Smith and I will be your Science teacher this year. This is room 302." "Oh my god. Wow I must be blind. Sorry." "Its fine step right in," the  teacher said escorting her to class.

Class had started. Janae looked around and only in seeing faces she hadn't seen before. "Alright Class. I am Mr. Smith. I will be your science teacher for an hour a day, for 5 days a week this whole semester. Today we'll start off by introducing yourselves. Say your name, and something you like. We'll start off with this young man right here." Mr. Smith instructed. After about 5 people it was Janae's turn. " Um hi. My names Janae Howard. And I like taking photos of nature basically the outdoors." She was so glad it was someone else's turn because she felt uncomfortable with people staring at her. "Next" said Mr. Smith. "My names Max-" Janae turned around. His voice. It was so soothing. But deep. She looked into his eyes and almost lost herself. She looked away. "Not again Janae," she said to herself.

She hadn't realized but the session was over, she had to hurry and get to her next class, Algebra. She didn't know where to go. Janae must've had a confused look on her face because a girl approached her, "Hi, I'm Ciara. You look a bit lost,Need help?" "Oh yeah um thanks, I'm Janae. Im looking for Algebra, room 321?" Ciara laughed, "Hey I'm headed there too! Sit by me,We can be math buddies(:" "Haha yeah sure. Why not(:," Janae said smiling.

Once they arrived at their next class,they sat all the way in the back. "Hello class. My name is Mrs. Williams. I am your math teacher. Wherever you are sitting right now, will be your sit until further notice. Only way you'll move is if I catch you doing something your not supposed to." Ciara smiled at me, "Yay we can sit here for the rest of the year!" Janae smiled at her. Maybe today wasn't going to be as bad as she thought.

Ciara had the rest of the classes with Janae, so they helped each other out to find their classes. It was 4:20 which meant it was time to head to the bus. Ciara had her mom pick her up and Janae rode the bus. As she sat down she noticed in the seat next to her, was Max!
