"I wonder why he keeps staring at me." she thought. Janae looked at Max's direction and saw he was still staring at her. Max waved and smiled. Janae smiled. He reached his hand over to shake her hand, "Hi im Max, I saw you in Mr. Smiths class, right? The girl who likes taking pictures. Um Jenny was it?" Janae laughed, "Um its Janae haha, my friends call me Jay. And yes I was the girl who likes taking pictures." "Oh sorry! Um nice to meet you." The bus stopped and this was where Janae gets off. "Yeah um this is my stop. Nice meeting you, we should um....talk later." she said quickly. Max nodded with a smile.
Janae got off, "Oh my god, he remembered me. Weird. I could've sworn he didn't see me. Well that's cool I guess haha." She got home while her mom was making dinner. "Hey darling *kisses Janae forehead* How was the first day of school?" Janae replied, "It was surprisingly great! I made a friend, Well maybe two. *she smiled*" "That's great! Hey listen I'm going on a quick business trip tomorrow and won't be back until after. Um....invite a couple of friends. A COUPLE not the school. I'll leave money in the counter for you to order out." Janae sighed, "Again? You've been busy a lot lately." Janae mom looked down, "I know I'm sorry baby, I just need to do this. I'm getting the biggest paycheck I've had all year." Janae rolled her eyes and nodded slowly.
She went upstairs and jumped onto her bed. Janae was exhausted, "Today was way better than I expected." She grabs her headphones and blasts her music. Janae just layed there in silence and thought about things. She did it a lot. She liked thinking things would go okay no matter what. She tried imagining her childhood with her dad. Janaes dad had died in a car crash when she was 5.
"Janae dinners ready!" Her mom called. "Going!" Janae replied back. She didn't want to get up from her bed. She was way too tired. But she got up anyways. As she got down stairs she smelt her favorite. Chicken pot pie! "Is that what I think it is?" Janae asked. You could tell drool was about to come dripping out of her mouth. Her mom laughed, "Haha you bet! Since it was your first day of school I thought you would be tired and so I decided to make your favorite." "Thanks ma(:" She finished eating and washed her plate. Her mom was already in bed.Janae laid back down. With her headphones back on. She just couldn't get Max out of her head. The more she tried to get him out of her head the more she'd think about him. "This is hopeless, I know he doesn't like me, And I'm almost positive I don't like him. How do I not know if I like him? Wow I'm so dumb. I don't like him, I barely said anything to him."
Janae noticed it was dark and her eyelids felt like 200 pounds. She turned of the lights and fell asleep. She kept having short dreams of Max and couldn't help but smile. Yeah, now she was positive she liked him. No doubt about that, she now was excited to go to school more often so she could talk with Max.
