Chapter 5: Team Building

I got up and began getting dressed for the day. Ozpin wants all the students to meet at the cliff above the Emerald Forest. When we got out the room, Morgan zoomed passed us to get there early. "Well, we all know that Morgan's semblance is super speed, what is yours Caleb?" I heard Savanna say to me. "You do not want to know." I say, they look at me for a bit, then moved on. "What about you J.D.?" I asked J.D. He then replied, "I-I can hear, smell, and see 100 times better f-for a short period of time." "Ok, what about you Savanna?" I said. "I have the ability to heal myself and others." Savanna said. "Nice, and you Adam... WHAT THE HECK!!!?" I said as I just notice that Adam was meditating while floating 3 feet off the ground. "The mighty Buddha himself bestowed upon me the ability of flight." Adam said as he still floats off the ground. "What about you Ethan?" Adam asked Ethan. "Oh, right, I can summon a front faced shield made from my own lifeforce, the other guards have the same ability, and together we can combine our shield into one giant bubble shield." Ethan said. We reached the cliff where most of everyone else was there, and they were standing on spring pads, so I'm pretty sure this trial has something to do with falling to our utter doom. "Good, now that everyone is here, we shall begin. Today we will test your trust with other people to determine your teammates. You will find artifacts that are in the Emerald Forest. There will be 4 of each artifact, one for each team mate. And the first people you find will be your team mates for the next 4 years." I then heard Ruby yell at the top of lungs, but before I could hear what she said, her scream caused Pain Maker to malfunction and auto eject, making the drill drop to the ground with a metal chain still attached to my arm, the drill caused the spring pad to begin the count down on only mine. "OH, SON OF A..." Before I could finish the pad launched me into the air, but the drill still stuck in the ground. As I was flying in the air I noticed that the drill is still stuck, and when the metal chain ran out, it began to auto retract me back to the drill. "Oh, this is going to HURT!!!!" I yelled as I came flying back to the cliff. When I hit the ground I landed straight on the spring pad. "OOOOOWWWWWW!!!!!!" I yelled. "Begin, NOW!" Ozpin said as he activated the spring pads, launching me back into the air.
