*** Beeja's Point of View
I went to the stables after my realization really set in. I didn't know what to do, and I ended up throwing a saddle across the barn. I spooked a horse, and it sprinted out after the saddle. I didn't even hear Fencha come in until he was right behind me, holding my shoulder while I fumed out my rage.
"I can't believe you forgot," he spoke quietly, but gently. I whipped around and pinned him to a wall. He looked at me with shocked eyes as it came to my attention what I was doing. I let him go and backed up slowly with my hands all balled up.
"Why," I croaked out. "Why did it have to be my freakin Protector! I am her mate and she doesn't even know it! I barely even know it!"
"Woah, woah, woah. What did you say?" Fencha's eyes were bulging out of his head as he looked me straight in the eye.
"I'm," I began hesitantly. "I am Tara's mate." Gulping audibly, I slid down to the stable floor and sat there as Fencha looked down at me in pure confusion.
"Dude, what did you do?" Fencha had a look in his eyes like he was disappointed in me. "You can't just claim to be her mate when she is marries."
"I didn't do anything! We kissed one time and I felt the electric shock when our lips touched. The lights completely blew out and everything. It was the real deal." Fencha looked at me with great concern as everything muled through his brain. "What now?" He surprised me by picking me up and dragging me out of the stables. Fencha took me all the way to the courtyard in the west wing of our home. He threw mw to the ground, and I landed hard. I watched as he strode into a room, and he came out with Tara thrown over his shoulder. Trest was nowhere in sight. Tara was then thrown down next to me, and we stared at each other in confusion.
"Explain yourself!" Fencha screamed at her. He was glaring so menacingly that I wanted to look away, and I am his older brother.
"What do you mean?" Tara was frantic and confused. She had seen Fencha this way, but she has never been on this side of it. They were always so close growing up, and his crush never allowed him to get mad at her. It was obvious he had cared about her, but his brother would always come before any girl.
"I mean that you have an actual mate, yet you gave your virginity away to some warlock slut! You should know better!" I thought he was gonna blow a fuse, he was so angry. I didn't know what to do.
"Fencha-" I began.
"No! This is her question, not yours! Explain yourself right now!" I knew to shut up then and there. I looked over to see Tara gawking at me as a sharp bolt struck in her eye. I was close enough to see it.
"Beeja, what is he talking about?" Tara questioned me cautiously. "Please tell me, because I only have twenty four hours to make a decision before my marriage with Trest expires."
"You guys haven't mated since that night?" Fencha asked aloud.
"That really is none of your business, however, since you figured out the math, no. We have not because he decided to cheat on me. Now what is going on!" Tara was getting agitated quickly. I stood up, but was pushed back down by Fencha.
"Stay down there and explain to her what is going on," Fencha spoke rudely.
"Well," I turned to Tara as I spoke. "That night that you stayed the night in my room, we shared a kiss. The thing was that it wasn't just any kiss, it was a mating kiss. I felt the electric shock and the lights blew out from your power surge. We are mates." I looked in her eyes while I waited for a response. I didn't get one in so many words. She grabbed me by the back of my head and jerked me face up close to hers.
"I'm gonna kill you if you are lying, however it makes sense what you are saying. You better run if this goes any different than it should." She spoke quickly and flatly with and edge in her voice. I nodded in assurance. She then eases her lips against mine, and my lips instantly began to tingle. My heart began to beat quickly, and the wind picked up around us. She pulled away slowly and she held her hand up to her lips in shock. "Oh my god..."
"I wasn't kidding. I don't kid." I then stood up and turned to walk away, but I was stopped by a delicate hand turning me around. I was instantly squeezed into a kiss that I can't even describe. Her soft lips caressed my own as we stood in pleasantry until I heard Fencha growl in displeasure. I pulled away to look at him, but I was shocked to see he wasn't looking at us. Up strode Trest with a furious look on his face.
He strode up to me and glared right into my face. I could see the electricity bouncing around him, causing Tara to grip my arm in fear. I straightened my back as I raised my chin to show superiority.
"Your majesty," he began slowly with acid in each word. "Would you like something else as well as my wife? Or do you plan on dumping her, just as you have in the past with previous women, onto others to deal with. I will assure you that this disappearance would not go unnoticed by anyone."
"My protector, if you wish, I can have you returned to your family in Moshma if there is a problem," I spoke calmly. Tara held on my arm tightly, and refused to let go as I glanced down at her.
"Sire, I have been married for awhile now, yet here you stand with MY wife in your grasp. I watch as you kiss MY wife. Does any of this sound sane?"
"Trest," Tara spoke out suddenly. "He's my mate." She looked at him expectantly, and I stood there ready to call the guards if needed.
"That's impossible," Trest responded. "Once we mated, all other ties should have disappeared. It's magic law." He was confused as he glanced around nervously. "This is too much!" He screamed as a bolt of lightening shot towards me, but I was saved by Tara jumping in front of me. I watched as she crumbled down to the ground in front of me, and Trest disappeared.
