You stare at your ceiling, the pittering of the rain keeping you awake, nothing seemed the same, and by you I mean I. I sat up slowly, the room warping ever so slightly.

Did i take a hit?

I don't remember.....gah I smell like shit. I stood up slowly from the only comfortable peice of furniture left in my house, the old ragged couch, and walked over towards my kitchen. The kitchen was a total wreck, dirty dishes in the sink, the floor had crumbs and dust all over it, I wouldn't doubt a few roachs got themselves a party goin on.

I open the fridge slowly, god motherfucking dammit, of course theres nothing to eat.

when was the last time I worked?

I dunno....

My head being fuzzy as always after i take a hit of the stuff...

what's the stuff?

I dunno, but it feels motherfuckin great.

Suddenly a loud beeping rings out from my pocket, no more time for argueing with my head I suppose.

I pull the phone out of my pocket and look a the caller, it's Karkat, who else would it fucking be?!

I press the button and hold the phone up to my ear.

"H-" I cough loudly before trying that again. "Hello?"

"Gamzee?" Karkats voice echoed in the cheap phone speakers.

"Yea....it's me little dude..." I turned towards my cupboards and opened the creaky doors, pulling out a cup I held the phone up with my shoulder while I turned on the sink to get some water.

"How long have you been up, you sound TERRIBLE." Karkat's voice slowly raised.

"Oh...uh....What motherfuckin' time is it anyway?" I took a small sip of water, "I don't have a single working clock here anyway...the ticking drives me mad..."

"IT'S FUCKING 2AM IN THE MORNING!" Karkat yelled at me, I couldn't see his face through the phone, but i assumed he was grimacing.

"Then why are you motherfuckin callin me?" I took a large sip of the water before setting down the cup in discust, I really need to clean up this hellhole. "If i can't be up till 2am what gives you the motherfuckin' right?"

Karkat sighed loudly into the crackily speakers.

"Because I've been up all night studying, my parents want me to get good grades." Karkats voice lowered as if he was about to cry.

"Cheer up little dude, get some sleep, I need to clean this place up....it looks like someone died in here...." My voice went raspy like it usually does every now and then.

"Yea...that's good advice I suppose..." I could tell Karkat had smiled at least a little bit.

"I'll see you tomorrow at 6 Gamzee, don't forget."

"I'll see ya then little dude..." The clicking of Karkat pressing the end call button startled me for a moment, the silence leaving me, once again, alone.
