The pain was beyond imaginable. It felt like my whole body was on fire and my head and ears were roaring. The only thing I could even remotely hear were some of my screams that even then were starting to fade. I tried to break free, but his hands that seconds ago were limp at his side, were now clutching on tightly to my arms through the fabric of my pajama top, in an iron-like grasp. I knew what he was now, but yet I couldn't get myself to believe it. Somewhere through the pain and confusion, the word vampire repeatedly crossed my mind.
I had a feeling that I was going to die soon. I was growing weaker and weaker and an icy chill was slowly starting to creep up my skin. At least the pain was gone now, but I was growing very tired and all I wanted to do was close my eyes, even though I knew if I did, I would probably never open them again.
But then he pulled back and threw me aside onto the ground. I barely registered the pain of my body hitting the concrete floor, but when opening my eyes, I saw he was standing over me with my blood smeared across his mouth. His face didn't look as pale and gaunt as it did before, and it even had a rosier hue to it. There was no mistaking though, the fangs that protruded slightly from his lips, they were also stained with my blood, but they disappeared a few seconds later.
"I'm sorry about that.....well not really." he smirked sarcastically, before using his hand to wipe the rest of the blood away from his mouth. 'But I bet you know why I was locked up down here in the first place now don't ya?" he kneeled down to my eye level and watched seeming amused, as I struggled to breathe.
What had I let loose? I could only stare up at him in absolute horror and he seemed to enjoy it.
"Your parents starved me you know?" he began slowly, “They thought it would keep me weak and docile like a little lamb, while they stabbed, beat and even injected me with all those little concoctions over there. All of that just to determine if any of it would kill me." he gestured to the table. "They were starting to grow anxious though, when none of it seemed to work. That’s why they left tonight, to find someone who could actually finish the job. But it looks like that won't be happening and it’s all because of you." his smile grew bigger and he reached out to touch my hair but I managed to dodge his hand.
"Well won't it be a surprise to them when they come back and I’m free." he mused.
My heart nearly stopped. He was going to kill my parents once they came back. He saw the look on my face and laughed to himself as if he knew what I was thinking. Then again, he already could know what I was thinking. I didn't know much about vampires and I highly doubted my knowledge of Twilight was going to help me out in this situation. I attempted to stand up, using the wall as kind of a support for my back. Blood was still trickling down my neck and onto my pajamas and I could see his eyes glance back from my face to my throat. Okay new rule: Don't look into his eyes.
I stared at the table behind him for a few seconds, trying not to give away what I was thinking, before looking back in his direction, trying hard to avoid his eyes.
"Now what to do with you?" he spoke as if he was deep in thought. But I could already tell what he was planning; he was probably going to kill me. Before or after he killed my parents I didn't know. Wait. Stop. That was no way to think! I wasn't going to go down without a fight and I wasn't going to let anything happen to my mom or dad. I was going to set this thing right again. Even if I didn't really have a clue on how to start. Which led me to rule number two: remain calm and keep your head clear.
"Why don't you come here?" even though it was a suggestion,he once again said it like a demand.
I thought quick and remembered what had happened less than a few minutes ago. Taking a deep breath, I put a blank, wide eyed expression on my face and being careful not to look too much into his eyes, watched his expression carefully until I made sure he had bought it. Slowly I walked towards him on slightly wobbly legs, keeping my face emotionless as a robot's.
