Your POV:
It had been a month since you and Poe had spoken to each other. Passing each other in the narrow hallways of base had become an awkward task. Neither of you could make eye contact with the other but both of you wanted nothing more than to be in each other's arms again. For the most part you were able to distract yourself from the pain by becoming more focused in your work. Focused to the point where General Organa began to take notice. "(Y/n) can I see you in my office for a minute please?" You turned around to face the General and followed after her quickly. She rarely called you into her office so it must be something very important. Once you arrived at the office you were instructed to sit down in the chair opposite the General. "So (Y/N), I'm very glad to see you going above and beyond in your work but I can't help but notice that you seem a bit troubled and you're not the only one. Poe has been acting a little out of character too." You were a little shocked to hear that Poe had been hurting just like you but then again it didn't completely surprise you. "(Y/N). (Y/N)! Don't think about it too much I have a job I need you to do. You're a mechanic right?" After being given the details of your job you head off to the tarmac with all the X-wings.
*time skip*
You smiled as you took a step back to admire your handy work. The X-wing was beautiful and as good as new thanks to your mechanic skills. Wiping your hands on a towel you started cleaning up your tools until you looked up from picking up the tools and saw a pair of black boots in front of you. Black boots worn by the curly haired pilot you knew so well. "(Y/N)?" The voice spoke softly and gently but you couldn't help but notice the pain laced within that one word. "(Y/N)...I've been looking for you...we need to talk...I've been a wreck this past month. I need you back and I don't care about the risks as long as I can have you in my arms again." Tears began to form in the both of your eyes as all the pain of being apart for the past month came rushing to the surface as you began nodding and he pulled you into a tight, secure hug. Once in his arms again both of you sighed a sigh of relief as the security and warmth of the hug began to envelope the two you. This was where you belonged and where you would stay as long as possible no matter what was thrown your way.
