Chapter Eleven - The Aftermath

Hello everyone, long time no speak! I'm so sorry for taking so long to update. As I said in the 'Chapter 11 Update' I have recently started a new job and I've been really busy there but I will try post as much as I can. I hope that you all think that this chapter is worth the wait. Make sure to leave comments as usual, I love hearing your opinions.

It had been three weeks since the kiss, it was literally the only thing going through my mind. To make matters worse, with Killian and Barney being on holiday it meant I had three weeks off to ponder around the house and do nothing.

It was time for me to get up and get ready for my first day back at work. Henry had already left for school so I had a bit longer to get ready. I walked out from the living room into my bedroom and I soon found myself at my wardrobe, I looked through it, trying to find an outfit for me to wear. I put on my old faithful jeans and a loose fitting shirt and my boots.

Soon enough, I was in my car and on the way to Killian's. I parked up outside and sat in my car for a while, I was so nervous to go in, the last time I saw him, he unexpectedly kissed me.

I finally got out of my car and headed up to the door, this time Barney didn't answer. I twisted the handle to open the door and walked in.

I headed to the kitchen where I saw Killian was standing, on the phone to someone though the crack in the door. I stood in the corridor, listening to him speaking.

"Liam I don't know what to do. All I've done during the holiday is think about Emma. The kiss. I feel like I'm cheating on Milah".

My eyes opened wide. He said my name, all he's done is think about me. I guess I don't feel like such an idiot now for doing nothing but think about him for the past three weeks.

"I know i'm not cheating on her and before she passed away she told me to make sure I found someone who makes both me and Barney happy. I really like Emma. What do I do" he said, still on the phone.

He likes me? WOW."Go for it? Go for it? How?" he said.

I opened the door to see Killian's eyes looking directly at me..

"I-i have to go" he said, quickly hanging up his phone and putting it on the counter behind him.

"Hey Killian" I said, walking over to him.

"H-hi Emma" he said, looking at me. I could tell by the expression on his face that he was nervous.

"Did you enjoy your holiday then?" I asked.

"Yeah, erm yeah it was great! I'm glad to be home though" he said, laughing.

I made us both a coffee and sat down at the table.

We talked like what felt like forever.

"Where's Barney" I asked, all I had thought about was Killian. I didn't even realize Barney wasn't in the house.

"Oh, he's at Liam's. He's taking him to his school taster day for me. I have a day at home today to catch up on my work. Three weeks of it in fact" he said, laughing.

"I'm so sorry. I've up since 6 trying to get through all of this work" he said, looking at the piles of paper on the table "I should have called you, you could have saved the wasted journey"

"Oh I don't mind, while I'm here can we talk about the elephant in the room" I said, I paused for a moment to think about how sudden that was.

"What elephant?  I don't see any elephants in here" he said, continuing typing.

"The kiss" I said, drinking my coffee.

"Oh that?" he said, typing slower and slower before stopping all together.

"Yeah that" I said "What brought it on".

"I don't know Emma, I really don't. I just don't know" he said, refusing to look at me.

"What shall we do about it then" I said. Starting to get angry.

"I-I don't know" he said, looking at me sheepishly.

"Call me when you do" I said.

I got up off my chair and and walked over to the front door and as I opened it, it was slammed shut and all of a sudden I was pushed against the wall.

"I like you Emma, I just feel like I will be betraying Milah" he said as he began kissing me.

The kiss felt like it lasted forever.
