Chapter 1

3 years later
"Awwww come on you can aim better than that!!!"

I huffed. He was seriously not making  this any better for me.
I tried again pulling back my arms and shooting fire out of them hitting the targets head.

"Come in Ave you usually set it all on fire!!"

"Well I'm feeling out of it." I mumbled.
It was my birthday tomorrow and I was going to be 18. Our sensei wanted to wait until I was 18 so a big bunch of us could go to the academy.

"Is this about the academy?" Danny asked.

"No of course not" I lied.

That made Danny sigh, so he came round grabbed my waist and gave me a big kiss on the lips.

"Make you feel any better?" my boyfriend chuckled.

"Lots." I whispered a blush forming on my cheeks.

"Okay now lets practise air."

After our training session (Danny is Fire and Air) we headed to meet my other friends for lunch.

I have been at the institute for as long as I can remember. But the years before my 16th birthday are a blur. I can't remember anything about them.

They seem so empty...

I was brought back out of my thoughts when my best friend Amelia screamed in my ear.

"What!" I gasped, she scared the life out of me.

"I got you Pizza," She smiled sheepishly.

"Hmmm, thanks." I said stuffing it into my mouth.

"Manners Ave, manners." Danny said from behind snaking his free arm around my waist as he sat down.

"I'm hungry." I moaned. I then lifted the last piece of Pizza into my mouth only to bite down on thin air and a smug Amelia stuffing it into her mouth. Amelia's mind, one of the most rarest abilities, she is here because of that. The rest of us are here because we have more than one power. Like I have all of the common elements, Air, Water, Fire and Earth.

"Am and Ave!" My friend Amy yelled from across the hall dragging our other friend Allison behind her. Amy is Amelia's twin so she has mind as well, Allison has Water, Earth and Air. People call us the 4 A's because all of our names start with A.

"Hey guys" I said still glaring at Amelia.

"What happened this time?" Ali giggled.

"She stole my pizza with her stupid mind powers."

"How unfortunate."  Amy said high fiving her sister.

A loud buzz sounded above our heads, and the crackle of the school sound system came into place.

"Could Avery, Danny, Allison, Amy, Amelia, Oscar and Chase please come to my office."

We all looked at each other we knew what this was about.

"Let's go" I mumbled.
I didn't entirely want to go to the academy but I had to I had this feeling that the missing hole I could could feel in my heart will get filled when I go there.

When we arrived at the office Oscar and Chase were already there, waiting.

We all acknowledged sensei with slight nods of our heads.

"So you all know that Avery here is turning 18 and a few of you are still 17." He started, "That means that you are to go to the academy in a few days,"

"Yes sensei." We all murmured.

"Whilst you have all found your powers and other Elementals have not, you will still need to go confirm them just incase you have more powers than you know about." Sensei said, he was addressing all of us but was looking at me.

I looked down breaking our eye contact. The one thing I do remember about my past is getting my abilities. People didn't know that we could get more than two powers so I was a freak, at least that's how I remember it, although it is a bit blurry. I started with fire then earth and then water people then thought I was weird until I got air they all frowned upon me. That was, of course, before people started coming in with 3 powers and I was no longer ridiculed.

Danny coughed, knowing I was uncomfortable and Sensei stopped looking at me and clasped his hands smiling.

"You all know you will all become strong young destinies so I hope you do your best." His smile suddenly turned into a frown.... "In all you do..."

As he ushered us out of the room Danny put a hand on my shoulder.
I leaned into the gesture and closed my eyes.

I headed up to my room I shared with Alison and this girl named Cassie.

We don't usually talk to her much because to be quite frank she's a bit of a bitch.

When Danny started going out with me she would plaster herself over him but luckily he told her to fuck off, which made me like Danny even more.

"Hey Cas." I said as I entered. All that gave me was a glare. She was younger than me and the rest of my friend group, well the people going to the academy, she was about 16 nearly 17. "Okay Jeez Cassie I was just asking if you knew where Alison is!" I said throwing my hands up.

Her face was blank for a moment before she gave me the fakest smile I have ever seen.

"Oh, she told me she was going to Oscar's room to you know mingle." She said in an oh so sarcastic tone.

I gave her a glare before stomping out I the room and into the room the twins shared with this girl called Jessica who was actually quite nice and she just turned 17. Luckily for us she shared the same hatred for Cassie as we do so me and Ali can come in moaning about her any second of the day.

"Oh.My.God!" I breathed as I opened the door.

They all stopped their conversation and stared at me before Alison spoke up.

"What did she do this time??"

"Well you know." I sighed running a hand through my hair. "All she did was glare at me and when I asked her where you were she said you were with Oscar getting it on!"

Alison's face went bright red, I assumed that it was anger and embarrassment. Amy and Amelia gasped and Jess put a comforting hand on Alison's shoulder.

"Hey, it's okay you will be far away from her soon and I will have to put up with her by myself!" Jessica told us.

"You have Chloe though." Amy says.

"She doesn't share the same hatred though." Jess pouted.

I laughed which also made Alison giggle but she still looks pretty angry.

Her and Cassie used to be great friends and they told each other their biggest secrets. Alison's being she had well she still has a massive crush on Oscar.

When She told Cassie this Cassie went straight to Oscar and told him everything, that night they had sex and started going out until they had a pretty nasty breakup caused by and unknown force.

Well that was actually me and the others but that's a secret you will have to keep.

After getting Alison calm and her normal self we headed to bed. Cassie wasn't in there, probably hooking up with some guy, so they could get to sleep peacefully.

"Night Ali."

"Night Ave."

And with those last words the light turned out and I fell into a deep peaceful sleep.

Okay so this is chapter 1 and just to let you know I will be uploading Wednesday's and Saturdays. If you are lucky I will upload on Sunday! :)
