Based on Greek Mythology, it's a twist on the goddess Artemis. Apollo is her twin brother. Artemis is the goddess of the moon, Apollo is the god of the sun. It begins with her, switches to him, and finally goes back to her. If there are any questions, I can give more of a backstory.
The moon rose as the night passed. It was the only light in the sky and it shone down like a spotlight on two people. In the middle of the forest, there was a small clearing. In the center was a clear pond and next to it a man and a woman lay sleeping together on a bed of flowers. As the moon reached its highest point in the sky, the woman began stirring. It's presence was calling to her. She sat up and slowly the memories of the previous day began flooding back. She looked down at the man beside her, checking that he was there to make sure what had happened was real, not a dream. She stared aghast at her reflection in the pond and began panicking. In one day, she had tossed her values down the drain and thrown away her life. She began pacing and muttering to herself in a panic.
“What have I done? What will I do? How did this happen?” She paused and then after a moment her face lit up maniacally. “I can just hide this. I won't let anyone find out. I will pretend I am not in love, never was in love, and that I never lost my virtue. Nothing happened and nothing will ever happen again. I just…” She began crying. “I just need to get rid of him. Just one man, it's no big deal.” She tripped over his still, sleeping body and fell to her knees with her head in her hands as she cried. He stirred slightly, but Artemis was gone before he had a chance to wake up.

The sun rose to a beautiful morning, and with it rose Apollo. Something about the day felt off to him. As the sun god, he had a close connection to the moon goddess Artemis. They were twins and they balanced each other. However, today for some reason, he couldn't feel the strong presence of his sister. It wasn't that uncommon, Artemis was fond of her privacy and kept a lot of her activities secret. Nevertheless, Apollo was curious what she was up to. He let the sun envelop his being and sent out rays of light to search for his sister.
He approached her sitting by a river, grooming a horse. It was a truly beautiful creature and he gazed upon it admiringly before speaking. It's blue eyes shone like sapphire gems and it's mane appeared golden in the sun. It neighed and the most beautiful sound he had ever heard a creature make reached his ears. When he spoke, he spoke softly as if any sound would destroy the mood and beauty of the moment.
“My dear sister,” he whispered, his eyes never leaving the horse. “Where did you find a beast of such beauty? It is certainly fitting of a goddess as beautiful as you.” Artemis's eyes lit up for a moment as if a fond memory struck her, but then dampened and turned sad. She looked away slightly and said almost mournfully, “he was sent to me anonymously. Certainly a very kind gift, I do wish I could thank whoever gave it to me, but I will to respect their desire to remain anonymous.”
Lying to her brother was excruciatingly painful. She was also brimming with anxiety at the thought of being discovered. He seemed suspicious, but Artemis was hopeful that he seemed to have believed her story. She simultaneously wished to simply forget everything that happened and keep the memory with her forever because she knew it would never happen again. Her true love, however, she knew she could never part from and would stay by her side forever.

After pacing the river bank for some time, Artemis headed back to the clearing. It would be less painful to just get it over with. Anyways, it had to be done before the sun rose because with it rose her brother. Apollo needed to be kept from her treachery more than anyone and she simply couldn't bear his disappointment and dismay. She also feared the wrath of Zeus, whose advances she had refused many times. She knew that this was the right decision, her actions must be kept secret.
When she reached the clearing, Adonis, her lover, remained asleep. Artemis gazed longingly at him. How peaceful and happy he looked. She knelt down to send away the animals that had followed her. She needed to be completely alone. Then she turned back . She leaned over him, cradling his head in her arms. Her hair fell lightly over him as she kissed his forehead and a single tear fell.
Artemis paused a second longer before regaining her resolve. She stood gracefully, Adonis resting in her arms. She took the few steps to the pond and knelt. “I love you,” her words were barely audible, but it was all that needed to be said. She gently slid his body in the water, gazing upon him as he sank. She knew this would be the last time she could admire his beautiful face. When he finally rested on the sandy bottom, she stood and turned around. It would not be long until her one chance at love would be gone forever. She stood waiting for the change to occur and sink in.
Several hours passed and Artemis remained still, gazing solemnly at the moon. Her long hair blew in the soft breeze and her dress, though still damp, flowed down her body. Finally hearing a splash, she dared to turn around. Emerging from the water was a beautiful horse. It shook the water off its body and whinnied softly. “I love you too,” Adonis was saying.
