Leo's P.O.V.

"Come on Cathy, Leo, were almost there!" Melody told us as we were sprinting to her house to tell Jean about Max. She needed to know and we wanted to be the first ones to tell her.

We reached the door and Melody quickly unlocked it, as soon as we stepped inside Cathy and I waved to her mom.

"Hey mom sorry for the surprise, it's an emergency." Melody tried to explain and made her way to the stairs without a second thought. We walked into a hallway and Melody opened the door to their room, where Jean was laying in her bed.

"Jean!" Cathy ran to her bedside and held her hand.

"Hey Cathy, hey Leo." I nodded to her and studied her face. It was red, but not a deep red, and her eyes were semi closed.

"Look we need to talk to you about something," Cathy said. Jean looked confused, so she looked and Melody and I for answers.

"It's Max, he's in the hospital." Melody said looking down. Jean's face turned from confusion to sadness.

"What?" She sobbed, all we could do was nod.

"Melody, Leo, I'll talk to her." Cathy said, we nodded and left.

Melody's P.O.V

Leo and I were sitting in the hallway outside my room, her back was against the wall and I was sitting across from her. It was quiet for a little bit before she spoke up.

"I haven't really talked to you in awhile, it's mainly you're sister I talk to" she said pulling her arms around her knees.

"Well maybe we can get to know each other," I suggested

"Right now?"

"Sure, you go first."

"Okay," she laughed to herself a little "I'm Leolani Taylor Deculus, I moved here from Hawaii and I live with my mom. My favorite color is black, and I enjoy listening to songs with meaning. The end."

I looked at her, she had a trustworthy face, brown eyes that had a sharpness to it, but they were heavy as if she's seen too much. Despite her dark skin, she had freckles, I've never noticed them before. She was wearing a worn Bob Marley shirt and shorts with low top converse that was also worm out.

"Your turn,"

I thought a little, maybe I could tell her...

"I'm Melody Quinn Wolfed, I've lived here my whole life. I like a lot of colors, I listen Panic! At The Disco, Fall Out Boy, Paramore etc. and..." I gulped as I looked at her again, she was waiting to hear what came after "and", I look down and took a deep breath "I'm gay." I braced myself for criticism and a good "are you hitting on me" like my dreams said.

There was nothing. I didn't even hear breathing. I look up, expected to see a disgusted face, but she had a really goofy smile.

"What?"

"I'm just glad I'm not the only one."

The tears started dropping down Jean's face, she looks so hurt, and her normally glowing eyes had gone dark.

"This is all my fault, if I had just gone to school..."

"Jean, you can't blame yourself for this, you were sick and Max having a concussion is not your fault." I tried to make my voice as soothing as possible, but the tears only kept coming.

"HE HAS A CONCUSSION!" Oh no, I forgot we left that part out. She took some deep breaths, and calmed down a little.

"I already almost lost you, I can't have the same thing happen, or even worse, actually lose him."

"You aren't losing anyone, I can promise you, what ever happens we will figure it out, okay?"

"Okay." She smirked a little, but I know her too well, she's still unsure.

Elliot's P.O.V.

"We should be proud of ourselves Elliot, look what has happened to them they're  falling apart." San started to laugh, happy with what he has done

"Yeah San, this is—" All of a sudden I was thinking, is this the kind of person I want to be, an absolute asshole to everyone, I don't know, but I guess there's no point in going back now.

"Great."

Am I sure I'm doing the right thing?

Then I heard another familiar voice, one softer, more gentle, and... British?

Elliot chose your next actions very carefully, because it could all be over for you like that.

What the hell does that mean? I don't know but I want to find out.
