Another day, another stressful bill. I suppose the land of opportunity comes with a price. It was around 11:30 pm when Dieter and Aksel were sitting in their apartment room, observing the bill they had just received from the main lobby.

Aksel, sitting at the foot of his bed, picked up the letter once more and looked over it. "Damn... That's quite a few zeros." He sighed before falling backwards onto his bed.

"Like I said, we need jobs." Dieter began, looking out the window admiring the amazing view. "It was like that in Berlin and is the same here."

"Money makes the world spin I guess."

"True words comrade..." Dieter sighed before walking towards the door.

"Where you headin'?"

"Going to see if their are any adds in the newspaper. One for a job at least."

Dieter opened the door and shut it behind him before heading down the stairs into the main lobby. There was a couple, a guy and a girl, that rushed into the room. It was storming pretty hard outside.

In their hurry, the guy accidentally bumped into Dieter. The guy, who was short enough that he had to look up at Dieter, opened his mouth slowly. "Hey, I'm sorry about that." The man apologetically said.

"It's fine comrade." Dieter replied.

"Comrade? What are ya, Russian?" The girl asked.

"German, actually." Dieter corrected.

"Anyway, we'll be on our way." The guy said, walking towards the front desk.

Dieter looked over at the desk and there she was. It was the owner of the estate, Ms. Patt. She was the nastiest woman Dieter's ever met, besides the faculty at MCF that is. Ms. Patt was short, had brown curly hair, light green eyes, was around 60 years old, had on dark red lip stick, was wearing a pink and white striped polo shirt, blue jeans and white sandals.

The couple walked up to the counter and smiled at her. "Hello. Do you have any open rooms?" The guy asked.

Ms. Patt scoffed and rolled her eyes. "Obviously. If I had no rooms, I'd have no business."

The couple was rather shocked at her response. "M-May we rent a room?" The girl asked, nervous on Patt's response.

"Sure, why not." Ms. Patt began before pulling out a small notebook at a floral pen. "Your names, phone numbers and credit card numbers?"

The couple and Ms. Patt began to discuss arrangements about the room while Dieter walked over to the stand near the desk. It had shelves with copies of the newspaper on them. He unfolded one and began to read the main article before hearing some kind of ruckus over at the desk.

"Are you kidding me?! That's a ridiculous price!" The guy exclaimed.

"It's pricy, but it's also best apartment complex in New York." Ms. Patt replied in the same tone.

"I'm not paying this, it's crazy." The girl added.

"You need to shut up little one, let us adults talk." Ms. Patt said before the guy cut her off.
