Chapter 1:

Punch after punch into my face as I lay on the hallway floor helpless. My nose was bleeding, my eye was black, I was gasping for air and with my luck there were no teachers wondering by. I glanced back at my life for a second and realised that getting beat up was worth it not because I wanted to cause drama but because the events that lead up to the painful moment made me a better person. The bully slowly got up off me, looked at my face, nodded to his friends and said, "Serves you right fag" and walked away.

Everybody stared at me but no one made a move, said a word... they just stared at me like what I did was wrong but deep down I knew it wasn't. My eyes slowly drifted off and finally closed.

I never found out exactly what happened after that.

 7 Months Before

I walked down the hallway with people staring at me and it was amazing. I'd never felt more happy in my life and it was all because I was consider the new hot thing in school. Girls stared at me, to hell with that! Boys were staring at me! This exotic feeling rushed through my body and I felt complete.

"Hey Damien! Look dude there's a party at my girlfriends place and it's going to be awesome! You need to come! It starts at 6pm but since your new at this i'll give you a hint. Come at 7, that's when all my guys are coming. See you there bro!" I was in shock a bit mostly because I didn't even know who this guy was and somehow he knew me but the other thing is that I had actually never been invited to a party before. I've never had any friends so that doesn't help but I had to think big about everything! Now that I was one of the most talked about guys at school... I had to live up to my expectations!

I told my mum about everything that was happening and it's not because i'm some 16 year old mumma's boy. My mum was the only person there for me through everything and I guess I kind of felt like she was the only person I could really trust and I knew she was going to help me with all this new popularity stuff.

"Okay so honey you're going to need to think about this properly. Do you really think that what you've decided on wearing is suitable for this occasion? I mean i'm 46 and even when I went to my high school parties no body rocked up in what your wearing" That was my mum saying the occasional last minute opinion.

"Look mum i'm sure this looks weird and all but this is the kind of stuff I could imagine Duke walking into a party wearing. Sure he may look a lot tougher than me but I reckon I can pull this off!"

"Damien, Duke is in his senior year and your not! From what i've heard about him he isn't that nice either so be careful about him! Your probably don't even know the real him"

"I don't care anymore-" I turned around so my back was facing the mirror and pulled my head over my shoulder to have a short glance at how stunnning it looked from the back, " I just want to wear what I think everyone else is going to wear"

She nodded her head and sighed. I could tell she wasn't happy and she thought that I was going to make an idiot out of myself but my opinion on this matters a bit more than hers. My mum opened the door to the drivers seat and pointed at me. As most people would have done I looked around behind me, making sure that every single angle around me was clear of other people that the pointing could have been apposed to but there was no one.

"M-Me?" I asked.

"Yes you silly! I know it's not legal and tonight I don't mind because if you're going to go to the party in that you may as well have something else up your sleeve"

"Are you serious?"

"No, not at all. Just get in the bloody car Damien or you're going to be late!"

"But mum the guy who told me about the party said that it's good to be late. He told me to come at like 7?"

"We're in the car now, nothing matters. Just drive"

I was actually dreading this moment now. After all the excitement rushing through my mind about how I was going to be driving tonight! And i'm only sixteen! I took a deep breath, let loose and started the car up.
