Chapter 1

Me and my team were on a helicopter on the way back to base from a long mission. We've been stationed in Qatar, Afghanistan. Fig was telling us about how he is missing his moms alligator meals again. Epps popped up with never eating at figs place ever. Fig started to speak in spanish. "Fig what ther fuck did I say about talking in spanish?" I asked him. "Sorry Rain." Fig said. "Do you guys remember weekend? Huh? With a flat beer and the Sox of Fenway." Daric siad. "Perfect day." Epps replied. "What about you Captain?" Daric asked. " I just want to go home." Lennox said. "Hey Rain, do you have a perfect day?" Daric asked me. "Ya its when the war is over." I said. We landed and we all got off. Me, Lennox, Fig, Epps, and Daric went to the Rec area. Epps and Fig went and played so basketball, Lennox went to go write the mission report, and I went to the team barreks on the edge of the Rec area and grabs my swim gear and a towel and head back out to go take a shower. After I was done I went and Changed back into my full uniform. Some guys called me crazy for also wereing my Cevlar vest around the base with my gun atached, but in case an attacked happened I was alway prepared. After I was done getting dressed and walked out of the Barracks thats when I heard the attack happening. The Helaocoper that came in Transformered. Me, Lennox, Epps, Fig, and Nanay ran for the tank line.Epps got a picture of the Robot through the binoculars when he got traped between the robots legs. He got back up and ran toward us and got under the tank with us. "Now do you see why I wear this vest and gun at all times." I told them. "Ya we get it Rain!" Everyone yelled at me. A day later we were headed into the mountains. "Ive never seen a wepons system like this. The thermal shows this weird aura around the exoskeleton like it's cloacked by some kind of invisible force field." Epps said. "Thanks impossible. There's no such thing as invisible force fields except in, like, comic book stuff right?" Daric asked. "Man, I dont know." Fig said. Lennox toke the camara and looked into it. "What is it?" I asked. "My mama, she had the gift, you know?" Fig said. "She saw things. I got the genne, too, and that thing that attacked us? I got a feeling it ain't over." "How about you use those magic voodoo powers and get us the hell out of here, huh?Ò Daric asked. "When I took that picture, I think it saw me. It looked right at me." Epps said. "All right, we got to get this thing back to the pentagon right away. They got to know what we're dealing with here" Lennox said. "My radio's fried. I got no communication with aerial." Epps said. "Hey, Mahfouz!" Fig said. "How far do you live from here?" I asked Nanay. "Not far. Just up that mountain." "Do they have a phone?" I asked. "Yes." "All right, let's hit it." Lennox said. "Lets hope this telephone line works." Lennox said as soon as we can into view of a telephone. When had been walking for 5 hours non stop. It was break time. "Wowowow!" Daric yelled. "HEY!" Lennox yelled at the same time when something tunneled underneath the phone poles put up knocking it down. "Heads up! Hey! Heads up!" I yelled at everyone when it was coming down. "What the heck was that?" Daric asked when it finally came down 1 yard from where he was standing. Fig said something in spanish to answer Daric's question. "English, dude. English." Daric told fig. Some knife thing was coming toward Lennox's neck when I looked over to ask him a question. "Whoa!" Me and Epps screamed at the same time seeing the same thing. We both started to shoot at it. Lennox did some dance across the ground and we all started to shoot at the ground. while it goes back into the ground. "Open fire!" Epps said. "Contact! Contact!" I yelled. "Everybody, quiet. Settle." Lennox said. "Whoa, mother... What the hell is..." Epps said and then that thing popped up behind Daric killing him. "RUN!!! Go!!" I yelled at everyone as we ran down the hill toward Nanay's hometown. Everyone was running backward shooting at the thing that was coming after us. "Go! Move it!" Lennox yelled as we got into the village. Everyone started to yell and run that was outside. The men with wepons can running out and start shooting at the robot thing too. It finally poped out of the sand. We all ran to cover as Êwe shot and Lennox took nanay to go get a phone. "Fig! Cover the rear!" I yelled. "Cover fire! Move it! Fig, cover the rear! Epps! Cover the rear! Move it! Come on! Give me a mag!"we all got into cover and started to fire at that robot. "Hey, I need a mag! Give me a mag!" Lutes yelled at me. ÒFire!" I yelled. We were trying the hardest we could but nothing was penitrating it. "I need a credit card!" Lennox yelled getting behind cover next to me. "Rain! Where's your wallet?" "Pocket!" "Which pocket?" " My back pocket!" "You got 10 back pockets!" "Let cheek! Ledt cheek! Left cheek! All right, keep shooting! Keep shooting!" I yelled. "Okay. its Visa." Lennox yelled. "No, I dont want a premium package! Epps! Pentagon!" Lennox throw Epps the phone. "I ain't never seen this in my life! Need gun staioned asap" Epps yelled as he throws the phone at me. "I dont known, man. I don't... Man, if you seen this shit..." I yelled into the phone. Epps looked up with me and saw a Predator flying over head. ] "Hey! Make way!" Fig yelled as some huge rocks came toppling down from the building on top of him. "Whoa!" I yelled as some dust, rocks, and smoke came my way. "Seven-man team noth of orange smoke!" I yelled into the phone. "Attack direction west! You're clear and hot! Lennox! The heat's coming!" ÒZara is that you?!Ó I heard the person awnser the call yell into the phone ÒYa this is Zara Witwicky. Whos this?Ó I ask into the phone ÒThis is little Lennox. Its ElliaÓ Ellia Thank you for the help but....Ó I started to say then I hear Lennox yell to the team. "Laze the target!" "We got a beam-rider incoming! Laze target!" He and I moved out of cover to get a better aim of the target. "Ready! Heat's Coming!" I yelled. "What? Bring it!" Epps said happily. The beam-rider planes both shot it up and shot missles at it. After the smoke cleard it was still going. "No frigging way that thing's still not down." Lennox said. "Spooky Three Two, use 105 shells. Bring the Rain!" I said into the phone. After the smoke clears we see it dancing around still alive. It goes and digs its way back into the sand. While digging into the sand part of its tail comes off. "Where's Fig?" Lennox asked as we approched the tail. "Fig? Fig?" I yelled. "Oh, God!" Fig yelled in pain. "God damn it! "Get a Medic!" I yelled. "Get a medic!" "I'm sorry." Some Aridic guy told us. "Black hawk..." Epps said into the phone as I threw it to him. "We'll get a medic. Just hold on. He's got a pulse." Lennoxs said. "We need a medevac. One man down. Patient care category urgent." Epps said. Lennox stud on top of one of the hills to the SouthWest cornors of the village and was signaling the helicopter down. We all got Fig onto the gurney and picked up and ran to the chopper as fast as we could with out hurtting him. We got on to the helicopter and it was silent the whole ride exept for Figs moans of pain. We got back and were ushered on to a plane waiting for us. The medic's put Fig onto one of the many plane beds and strapped him down for lift off. We then all strapped in ready for lift off. We lifted off and after of 5 mins in the air we were told over the intercoms that we were allowed to unstraped ourselfs from the chairs and we all gathered around the tail that we grabbed and started to cheak out what kind of damage we did. "Its like a self-regenerating molercular armor." One of the techens said. "Look at the scorch mark where the sabot round hit. Melted right through. Hey, aren't sabot hot-loaded for, like, a 6,0000-degree magnesium burn?" Lennox asked. "Close to it." I said. "It melts tank armor." Epps added in. "So its metal skin must react to extreme heat." Lennox said. "Heads up!" I yelled as the tail comes back to life and stabs the table. "OH!" Epps yelled. "I thought you said that thing was dead, man!" " Strap it down! Strap it!" I yelled as it came relaxing back down on to the table. "This thing is wicked. All right, get on the horn with Nothern Command. Tell them that our effective weapon is high-heat sabot rounds. Recommend we load the on all the gunships. Go." Lennox told Epps. Epps went off and got onto the horn with command. "Rain, why dont me and you go and talk about this shit?" Lennox asked me. "Sure." I said as I follow him to behind one of the crates.
