Somewhere inside the spirit realm, Giotto Taru was looking at his pocket watch solemnly. Deep inside, he felt real empty, as if there was nothing in this world could faze him and soon, he heard a cry from a young infant. Something about the baby that was calling out for him for what reason he himself did not know. He travelled to where the baby was born, seeing a happy young couple cradling a fine young baby in their arms with joy.
"What a fine looking child," He thought.
Since he was a spirit, no one could see him but he had never been so wrong. The young baby named Sawada Tsunako was looking directly at him with her big brown eyes, as if she was looking right through him.
"What are you looking at, little baby?" Giotto wondered and went closer just to be greeted with Tsuna's small hand wrapping around his pinky. Both parents were wondering what she was holding and she was smiling real bright which melted the heart of the first Vongola. He smiled back and finally said, "Hello, little Tsuna. Go get some rest, okay?" The little baby, somewhat understood it and yawned softly before finally fall asleep.
4 years later, little Tsuna was playing in the yard with Giotto which Nana thought Giotto as her 'imaginary friend', ignored it and went to cook since Vongola Nono would come to visit them with Iemitsu.
"Gio, today mama said that gwampa ish coming to visit," She said, sitting on Giotto's lap while hugging her plushie which Giotto made a soft chuckle.
"Well, are you looking forward for him coming to visit you guys?" He asked while patting her head which made her shook her head softly. "Awww, why?"
"Cause Mio (her kindergarten classmate) said that gwampas can be weally gwumpy. Tshuna no like gwumpy people," She turned to him and snuggled close.
"Not all grandpas are like that, Tsuna. It won't hurt to try greet him. Okay?" He smiled and kisses her forehead softly."Okie, but Gio will be there too?" She tugged his sleeve which made him gave a gentle smile and nodded, "I promise."
Soon, Nono arrrived. Tsuna hid herself behind Nana and played with the helm of her skirt which Nana smiled and encouraged her to greet him and so she did. Nono saw the potential of what a woman Tsuna would turn up to be and smiled and after that, they played together and since Nono had met Giotto during the inheritance trial, Giotto had no choice but to not show himself for that day. As soon as Nono went home, Tsuna ran around looking for him.
"Gio!! Gio!!" She trotted around calling for him.
"I'm here," He appeared which soon made her ran up to him and hugged him.
"Why'chu run away? Chu no like gwampa?" She looked at him with her big round eyes.
"No. I just had something to do just now,"he nuzzled her cheek which made her chuckled cutely and hugged his face.
"Gwampa ish kind! Gio ish right!" Tsuna said excitedly.
"See? I told you so. And he is a great man," He patted her head.
"Umn! Will Gio sleep with Tshuna tonight too?" She asked, playing with her fingers.
He smiled and kissed the top of her head,"Of course, princess. Let's go." He held her hand and walked her to her room after saying goodnight to both Iemitsu and Nana. He tucked her softly in her bed and hummed her a sweet lullaby until she fell asleep. Soon, G's spirit came and appeared behind him.
"Primo, aren't you too attached to that girl?"G said worriedly.
"I don't see anything wrong with it," He kept humming to the sweet child although she was already fast asleep.
"Don't play dumb. You know she'll hate you when she knows the truth," G growled but not loud enough to wake her up.
"I know, G. I know," He caressed the young child's cheek which then made G sighed and disappeared from his view. Somehow, he couldn't help but to stick with the cute little girl and could only cherish the moment of her innocent years until he would finally had to leave her.
