It has been a month since the procedure. The Alphas have been waiting for this moment not talking about it just going about their lives while it was right there under the surface, gnawing at them both. They had not told any family or friends that they were trying to get pregnant they only wanted to tell everyone when it was official. Today was the day. At four weeks a home pregnancy test will show if Rachel is pregnant or not. They would wait until they got home to take it. They had purchased five tests on the way home from the hospital the day of the procedure. All different kinds, ones that show a plus sign others showed two lines. Just to be sure they were reading them right.
They both leave work early on the day she could take the test and we're home way before they usually were. The plan was to have a nice dinner and then take the test. That was thrown out the window. They both go right for the bag they had hidden under the bed, so that any company they had would not come across it accidentally. "I've never been so excited to have someone take a pee" he says and kisses her and they smiled at each other. Then she closes the door and sits on the toilet.

She slowly opens the door after five minutes or so, the longest five minutes of Jack's life so far. She slowly comes out her head down. Jack's heart sinks into his stomach. He grabs her and hugs her tight tears forming in his eyes.
She struggles against his hug and finally is able to hold up three tests for him to see. One has a plus sign the others each have two lines.
She looks up at him with a big grin on her face but he is not looking at her. She sees his face change from devastated to confused to recognition to overwhelming joy as his brain catches up to what he sees. He lifts her small frame of of the ground and holds her to himself tight. Then puts her down quickly. "Sorry, he says and kisses her on the head."
"I'm no china doll." She says playing at being sore with him.
"You are to me." He says smiling rubbing her belly.
She just stands there and lets him do it. Smiling up at him.
