New To Me

Chapter One

"Here you go Miss Y/N." The doorman said given me the keys to my new apartment.

"Thank you Mr. Cook." I grabbed my keys from Mr. Cook hands and I followed him to my new apartment.

"Are you excited for the new life?" My best friend Luna asked. "You moved to a new country for your new job, you're living by yourself in your new apartment. You must be dying of excitement." She smiles and giggles.

"I am, I can't wait to start my new life and I'm not living by myself. I have Rei with me to keep me company and protect me. He's the love of my life." I laughed at my last comment.

"Yeah, keep saying that and you won't be able to find a boyfriend." Luna says sarcastically. Rei is my dalmatian dog, I rescued him 3 years ago and he's been with me since then. He's a good dog, he's the sweetest, he's more responsible than me and he keeps my head off the clouds.

"Hey, if the guys don't accept Rei than they are not right for me." I laughed and Luna just rolled her eyes.

The elevator stopped and we arrived at the floor where my apartment was. We passed five apartment doors and we got to my apartment. 

"Well Miss Y/N, I hope you enjoy your new apartment." Said Mr. Cook before he left.
"Thank you." I said to him smiling and he left.

The door from the opposite apartment from mine opened and this man came out talking on the phone.

"I am on my way. I know I'm late... I'll be there in ten minutes." He said that getting out of his apartment, closing his door and walking away. He was really tall, auburn short wavy hair, blue eyes, he was not to buff but he wasn't too skinny, wearing a black tucked in button up shirt, dark denim jeans, long dark gray jacket and black shoes. He just passed by us and didn't not acknowledges us. He was really handsome.

"If the guys in this building look like him, I'll be here everyday." Luna whispered and giggled. I rolled my eyes at her.

"He probably has a girlfriend... Don't get any ideas." I said to her getting inside of the apartment.

"I'm not! I was just trying to say that he should be a model or an actor. He's really handsome." Luna puts the boxes on the floor and we started unpacking.

We spend the whole morning and afternoon unpacking, moving the furniture around, organizing the rooms, cleaning and decorating. The apartment was done and presentable, I was glad how it turned out.

Luna and I left to go to her house to go pick up Rei. Rei stayed at her house with Luna's boyfriend Ben while we were taking care of the apartment.

After picking up Rei we went to get some food to eat and went back to our new apartment.

A few weeks went by and I couldn't be happier with my life. My job was great, my apartment was comfortable, the people were nice to me and Rei got adjusted to our new life. My routine was waking up in the morning take Rei for a walk, give him breakfast, get ready for work, eat breakfast, take Rei out again and go to work. During lunch I'll come back home and check on Rei and go back to work, that was during the week. During the weekends I'll take Rei for a long run, like we always do. At night I would go out with Luna or stay home.

It was the weekend, Rei and I got up early for our weekend run. I wore my black running leggings, purple long sleeves shirt and my black and white nikes. I put Rei his red light sweater on because it was chilly outside. I was getting his leash ready and I crack the door open while I fixed his leash and all the sudden Rei opens the door and runs out.

"REI!" I yell running out to get him, he runs to the apartment across from us and the door was left opened. I ran in the apartment to grab him before anything happens. 

"Rei! No!" I half yelled when I saw what was happening. Rei was on top of the guy that lives in the apartment, he was licking him, pawing him, wiening for the guy to pet him. 

"Oh, hello! Where did you come from? Aren't you adorable?" The guy said talking to Rei, letting Rei kiss him, pawing him and he was loving the love from Rei.

"Rei, no honey. Come here! You know better." I point to the ground so he would come and he did. He walked towards me and he set waiting for my next command. The guy got up from the floor and walk to where we were standing next to the door. He was so tall, he was so tall that am at his shoulder and this time I had a better view of his face and he was beyond handsome. His blue eyes got my attention right away, they were beautiful like the sea.

"I'm so sorry about that. He has never done that before. I'm really sorry." I was apologizing like crazy. "Did he hurt you?" I asked worry because Rei can play rough sometimes.

"No, it's wight already. He's adorable and playful. He didn't hurt me at all, he was gentle. I'm actually glad he came in because I had fallen asleep with the door open, again and if wasn't for him coming in, someone else probably would." He said with a perfect smile.

"We just moved to the apartment across from yours a month ago and he's still getting used to the new environment. I'm really sorry." I felt really bad.

"Don't be, he's a savior. Well welcome to the building. I would have come and welcomed you to the building but I wasn't here and I just got back." He said with a tiring face.

"Oh, I'm sorry, you must be tired. We'll get out of your way and let you rest and I promise you won't be seen a dalmatian licking your face." I smiled, trying to be funny and he laughed.

"It's alright, I love dogs and what's his name?" He was walking us out of his apartment.

"His name is Rei. He's my little angel." I patted Rei's head.

"Well nice to meet you Rei." He pats Rei's head and Rei gave him his paw to shake. "Aww, he wants to shake my hand. That's a gentleman right there." I giggle at the comment. "And Rei, what's the name of this pretty lady that takes care of you?" He says looking at me with his crystal blue eyes and a smile.

"I'm Y/N." I reached to shake his hand with a smile.

"I'm Tom." He shook my hand and smiled back.
