Dean padded down the stairs, having to pull his baggy Batman pyjamas up every five seconds to keep from falling. The doorbell rang once more and he sped up, almost crashing into his father on the way down, and he gave him an embarrassed smile. "Sorry, Dad!" "Sorry what?" John asked, and he quickly amended himself. "Sorry sir." Rushing to the door, he flung it open to see a small boy holding a large brown parcel, and he threw his arms around him. "Jimmy!!!!" The other boy shrunk shyly, but he smiled. "Don't squish it!" He said quietly, and Dean pulled away to inspect the shape of the brown package. "Is it pie?" He asked, and his father sighed. "Dean, don't be greedy-" But the dark haired boy had nodded, and Dean's eyes lit up. "Yay!!" He beamed. "Come upstairs with me Jimmy, there's movies and candy and I made a fort and we can sit in it and-" He paused for breath, and the two boys raced up the stairs, sounding distinctly like a whole herd of elephants. The two fathers looked at each other knowingly, and they chuckled. "I hope they stay friends," Mr. Novak commented, and John smiled. "They will."
