Niklaus's mind was foggy.

He didn't know what to feel. He was so confused that he spent the rest of the night outside the dungeon, where Caroline was held, tied up, vervained.

What? Is he going to torture her? No. Is he going to wait until the vervain gets out of her system? That would take too long, and klaus was curious. Is he going to bleed her out? He was considering it.

Would she hate him if he did? He wouldn't know.

At the end of the war that was going on in his head, he decided that he was going to talk to her. Maybe she'll fill the blanks. Tell him how she got back, and why did she turn her humanity off.

As he entered the dungeon, he saw Caroline's head dangling down, his eyes softened at the scene. He got closer so he could touch her, verify again that she was not a hallucination, and that she was here indeed. But as he touched her right shoulder, she surprised him by growling, showing her sharp white fangs, and her solid black eyes. But the gesture ended as soon as it started.

She was weak.

"You're going to regret this, you know?" She said, before chocking and coughing.

Klaus smirked, "What ever you say, love," He watched her lower her head, her shoulders went up and down, and Klaus heard a sniffing sound. He furrowed his brows at her, "Are you– Crying?"

The sound continued, and she looked at him. Klaus's question was confirmed when he saw her teary eyes, "Klaus?" Her voice twitched, "What's happening? Why am I here?" She looked around the dungeon, tears falling down her cheeks like a water fall. Klaus flinched. "Oh, no," She cried, "You want to torture me, like my dad,"

"Caroline?" Klaus said, he wasn't sure that he was talking with the real her or not. "What happened?" If it was really her, she would answer his question.

She stuttered, "I-i was at the cemetery, I remember- I remember b-blood. My blood. Everything went blank when I was talking to you, and I think I was in some sort of a w-weird place. I could feel that my body was sleeping, but I was too tired to move, I–" She broke into tears, bowing her head down, she yelped when the vervain burned her.

Klaus hurried to help her, he ripped off the soaked ropes, and Caroline hugged him, crying still. He froze for a second before wrapping his arms around her tiny waist. She muttered something, but he couldn't make something out of it. "What?" He asked.

"You're a softie," She said again, and before he could act on what she said, she broke his neck. "What a shame," Then she muttered.

She left.

"She's gone," Klaus had explained to Enzo, "That's all you need to know," He was ashamed that she'd pull something like this with him, and manages to actually trick him. It seemed sincere enough for him that he actually believed her.

Enzo on the other hand cursed, and stormed out.

Kol watched Enzo walk out as he entered, and wondered what he got him that angry. Klaus sensed his brother and rolled his eyes, "It's not a good time, Kol,"

Kol furrowed his brows, and asked, "Why? What happened?"

Klaus sighed, he didn't want to repeat it, but he did anyway, "Caroline is Alive, but with no humanity," He gave him the shortest, and fastest summary.
