Roger walked swiftly down the halls with John hurrying after him, trying his best to keep up with the blond boy. Roger wanted to get John to his destination as soon as possible. Why is this school so bloody big? He thought irritated. Now that Roger thought about it, it might not have been a great idea to agree to help this new guy find his class. To be honest, he really didn't want to be seen helping a younger student, especially by his friends. Certainly not now he seemed to start to get along well with John. That would not help his reputation at all.

'Keep up will you?' He growled over his shoulder to John, who almost had to run now to keep up with Roger. John said nothing and just kept walking.

'What's the matter? A minute ago, I couldn't get you to shut up, now you won't talk?' John just shook his head, a little out of breath. Roger was about to open his mouth when a couple of people from his class rounded the corner. Roger immediately distanced himself a bit more from John and pretended he didn't exist. Once the students were out of sight Roger slowed down again, allowing a tired looking John to catch up a little. Roger now noticed that Johns backpack was almost exploding with the amount of books it had in it. John saw him looking at it and smiled sheepishly 'I don't have a locker yet.'

'That explains why you walk like a fifty year old man.'

John let out a very contagious giggle at this and Roger couldn't help but grin. The two were now quickly approaching the right classroom, so Roger slowed down some more. John looked very happy about this and took the opportunity to catch his breath.

'Hey Rog!' a friendly voice called from a classroom. Roger looked up to see a lanky boy with a mop of curly dark hair getting up from a desk where he had been sitting on. He was a year older then Roger and had soft, expressive brown eyes.

'Hey Bri! How typical of you to be sitting in a classroom during lunchbreak.' Roger grinned.

'Haha, very funny Roger, I'm trying to help some of the kids with their math homework. Which, if I remember correctly, you said you would be a part of as well.'

'Damn! I totally forgot that was today, sorry Brian.' Roger did forget and Brian was right, he could really use some help.

'It's okay, just try to remember next time.' Brian now stood in front of them. 'Whose this?' Brian asked, gesturing towards John, who was semi-hiding behind Roger, shyly observing the interaction between the other two boys. Roger looked behind him and realized what John was doing, so with a sigh he stepped aside so John was now fully facing Brian. John seemed really unhappy about being exposed like that and shifted from one foot to the other, avoiding Brians gaze.

'H-Hi, uhm, I'm... I'm John.' John spoke towards the floor. Brian smiled warmly at the younger boy and extended his hand, which caused John to finally meet the older boy's eyes.

'My name is Brian. It's very nice to meet you, John.' They shook hands and John smiled at Brian, visibly relaxing due to Brian's friendly approach.

'He's new here so I'm showing the way to his class.' Roger turned to John 'It's that door by the way.' Roger said, pointing to the right door. John nodded gratefully 'Thanks Roger. You're really kind.' The blond boy was about to reply that this was certainly not the case, but got cut off by the bell ringing.

'You should go, your friends are probably wondering where you are' John mumbled. I doubt it, Roger thought, but he just nodded. Brian turned to John and said. 'I have my class in this room.' He pointed behind him. 'So if you wait for me, I can help you find your next class afterwards, okay?' John smiled gratefully and nodded. Roger gave them a short wave and stalked off quickly, before anyone he knew saw him.

To be continued

Okay, so for the next chapter, I could focus on either Roger, Brian or John. I could even bring Freddie into the story. If you have a preference, leave a comment of who you would like me to focus on next and I'll try and do that. Other than that, have a fabulous day and I hope you enjoy! Feedback is more then welcome.
