Hi people. This chapter might be short, but I thought it would be a more rounded chapter if I did it like this. You may expect a new chapter soon, as I've already written most of it.

John couldn't suppress the giggle that seemed to bubble up from the pit of his stomach. His face broke out into a full toothed grin despite the pain in his arm,. The blonde boy, Roger, just seemed shocked at first. As if he thought John had lost his mind. But when their eyes met, Roger's shoulders seemed to sag in relief and he started laughing too.

Roger gently shoved John in the shoulder. 'Stop laughing at me.'

-'I'm sorry.' John said, still laughing. 'It's just that I always thought that I was the most awkward person in the entire world. And then you happened.'

'So?'

-'So.' John tried to put on the same terrified expression as Roger had worn earlier. He did his best to make his voice as raspy as Roger's while he imitated him: 'Uhm, how was your day?' John giggled again. 'I mean really? Couldn't you think of anything else to say?'

'Well let's switch rolls then. What would you have said if you were in my position?'

John thought about that for a moment. 'There you have me, I have no idea.'

-'See?'

'But to be fair, I wouldn't have shoved you into a cupboard in the first place.'

Looking at his shoes Roger mumbled: 'Oh, right. Sorry for that.'

-'Yeah you apologized already.'

-'Yes, but I really didn't mean to hurt you.'

-'I know.'

-'But I mean it John.' Roger turned John around to face him. Johns injured arm dripping water on the floor. 'I have been nothing but a complete arse to you this entire day and you don't deserve that. You are nicer to me than all my friends and I will never intentionally hurt you again.' Roger took a deep breath and placed John's burned hand back under the faucet. 'Alright?'

John seemed to be thinking deeply. He looked slightly concerned, as if he didn't fully believe Roger. But the blonde boy didn't back down and maintained eye contact with John for what felt like minutes. Then John sighed and nodded. 'Alright.' And as an afterthought: 'Does this mean we're friends?'

'I guess it does.' Roger said quietly

'Wow.' John said. 'I've never had a friend before.'

'I should hope so.' Said Roger, holding up the younger boy's injured arm. 'If this is what you have to go through to get one.'
