"Shannon this party is really loud, can we please go outside for a minute?" I said to Shannon hoping that she'd understand that I want alone time with her. When I have alone time with her I feel so good inside. "Yeah, of course we can" she answered as she put her arm around my waist to help hold me up. "Thank you for coming and sitting out here with me, you didn't have to" I said as balanced my head on her shoulder. I haven't had a drink yet, so I can't be drunk. "It's fine, I'm your friend. I'm not gonna be leaving you outside alone, especially because have you seen the amount of creeps that come out at this time. I don't want you getting hurt... you're special in my heart" she said as she put her arm around me. "Thanks you're special in my heart as well" I whispered and shivered. Shannon quickly took her arm off of me and stood up. "Where are you going?" I asked her. But she hadn't started to walk away yet. "Here, you're cold" she said as she put her jumper over me and then sat back down next to me. Her arm didn't move from my side, well that was until he came outside. The guy I despise. SAM ARNOLD. The guy who stole my best friend. "Hey, Shan you trying to get it on with cammie now" he slurred his words because he was obviously drunk. "Go home you're drunk" I said to him as Shan just sat there quietly. "Hey cammie have you ever thought of maybe not being a stupid cunt" he said and started laughing but soon stopped when Shannon started talking. "OI duche how about you don't be such a cock towards cammie. I only see one stupid cunt here and that's the pity worthy arsehole who thinks drinking will solve all of his self inflicted pain. Get a life and just fuck off home, oh and next time you're rude to cammie I will fucking kill you" she intentionally spat at her now near to tears boyfriend. He quickly walked off and I was still sat next to her amazed. "You alright? I'm sorry his a dickhead" Shan said with pure disgust in her voice. "Shannon, you are actually so amazing. You know you didn't have to defend me. I could have coped, I do any other time" I said in a thankful manor. "Look, I really do care about you and nothing nor no one will ever be able to change that" she said as she looked at me straight in the eyes. I quickly looked away so she couldn't draw me in anymore then she already has. We sat there for a couple more minutes before she said that it was late and she had to go home. We stood up and started to walk down the street together. Her arm was still around me and that made it hard for me to walk because she gave me butterflies. Her house wasn't to far from the party so we got there to fast for my liking. I walked her to her door and hugged her goodbye. "Thank you again for defending me earlier" I said and kissed her cheek. "You're welcome" she said as she stared into my eyes again. "Um I'll see you tomorrow" I said as I walked to the end of her porch. "Night Camden" she yelled out to me. "Goodnight Shannon" I said as I skipped off towards my house.
As soon as I got into my house it was pitch black. I walked into the kitchen and switched on the flickering light. On the counter sat an unopened note with 'mum' written on top of it. I quickly opened it and read it aloud to myself
'To my dear Camden
I'm sorry that this is on such short notice but your step father and I have had to go to Australia for a work conference with some very important people and we just couldn't say no to them. I hope you are okay being home by yourself for a month. I have left some money on the counter for you. Please take care of yourself. You can feel free to bring your friends down, just make sure that you don't destroy anything expensive. We love you so so so much.

Wow that's a relief. Now I can throw a mini party on Saturday. I quickly grabbed my phone out of my pocket and started to text Shannon.

I turned my phone off and payed in my bed ready to go to sleep. I can't wait to go to school tomorrow and see Shan. I slowly closed my eyes and drifted off into a deep sleep.
