~Hayley's POV~
Our walk soon became a jog then running like their was no tomorrow. When we reached each other i hugged him. He hugged back.
"Mitch-" I quietly whispered.
"Yes?" He replied back.
"I-I missed you" I hugged him tighter.
"I missed you too." He softly whispered into my ear. I felt shivers go down my back. I never have felt this.
"NOW KISS!!!" I heard someone shout behind us. I blushed. That voice was so familiar. I looked over to see who the certain person was. Jerome?!?! Mitch chuckled but he slightly blushed. Jerome walked over.
"So, Mitch. Is this the famous Ms. Hayley you are ALWAYS talking about?" Jerome asked Mitch.
"Maybe...." Mitch said with a smirk.
"Hi" I managed to squeak out. I was shy when meeting people. But this was different. I felt like i knew Jerome. I decided to shake it of for now.
"I can't believe," I started "THAT I'VE ALWAYS LIVED NEXT TO A YOUTUBER!" I shouted. Jerome and Mitch laughed. I invited them over and they agreed to come over.
~Jerome's POV~
We walked into Hayley's house. This house it seemed so familiar. Mitch and Hayley were talking about something and started laughing. I wasn't paying attention though. Hayley looked so familiar. She actually had the same name as one of my childhood friends and actually look like her a little.
Flashback
"Hi". Hayley squeaked out. We were 6 at this time and partnered up to draw something. "Hi! I'm Jerome!" she flashed me a small smile.
"JEROME! JEROME!" She yelled over the fence that connected our houses. "YEAH?" "GUESS WHAT TODAY IS JEROME!!!" "Ummm" I said to tease her. "ITS MY 7th BIRTHDAY JEROME!!!" She squealed and started to jump around. I ran over to her yard and played until it was time to celebrate her birthday.
We sat next to each other on a bench beside a lake. We were in our last year of middle school. 8th grade. She looked out at the lake. "Jerome.." she started. She gave me a worried look. I moved closer to her and put my arm around her. She started to cry. She lifted up the sleeve of her sweater. It revealed 2 fresh cuts on her arm. I looked up at her. She was already crying. "Oh, Hay..." I said to her. I pulled her into a hug. She buried her face into my shirt. "They came back Jerome. They teased me. They hurt me. They called me names..." She struggled to say the last part. "They called me worthless!" she yelled out. I petted her head. "Shh" I said. "Hayley," She looked at me. Her eyes were red and puffy. She let out small sniffles. "You are anything BUT worthless." Her frown turned into the smile that first made me want to become friends with her. "Your the best Jerome" she said quietly and hugged me. I smiled. "Right back at ya."
I looked over at her. She shot me a sad look. Her mom got and new job and they were moving. I walked over to her and hugged her. I could feel her cold tears hit my shirt. "I'm going to miss you so much Jay." She said. "Same here Hay. Same here." "Jerome?" "Yeah baby girl?" "Do me a favor.." "Anything" "NEVER forget me." I hugged her harder. "I promise."
Flashback Over
"Hayley," I said. Mitch and Hayley looked over at me with confused looks. "Can I talk to you for a sec?" She looked over at Mitch then at me and nodded.
"What's up?" She said
"Show me your wrists please." Her eyes grew big. I could see her try to pull her arms away. But before she could I grabbed on wrist. The one i wanted. She tried to get out of my grip but i was to strong for her. I rolled up the selves and saw the 2 cuts almost faded away but still visible. I saw her eyes grow sad but with a pang of anger. I let go of her wrists. She shot me a disappointed look. I hugged her. I saw her looked surprised. "Hayley," I said quietly. "You are anything BUT worthless." I felt her hug me back.
"J-Jerome?" she said.
"Yes Hay?"
"Thank you.. for keeping your promise."
"Anything for my best friend" I said back to her.
~ OMG OMG!!! Didn't expect that did you ;)? Don't worry they don't have anything between each other. Just an amazing friendship :'). So? How did you like it? You guys.... ALMOST AT 500 READS!!!!!! This is just awesome! Anyway? How are you guys/ Good? Good. So I don't really have anything else to talk about.
